For a build focused on Flow Caps, yes, the Dominion Beam Arrays are good choices. They're also free but you need to put in lots of time to acquire enough to outfit a ship.

The procs these weapons have both benefit from Flow Capacitors. It has a the Polaron and Tetryon Procs.

My only real gripe with them is that of the 2 possible choices, beam array or dual cannons, only 1 is ideal. Not fond of Dual Cannons.

I'd did for about 3 days post DR on my Scryer. Running "Boldy They Rode" 5x wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Spent way too much upgrading them -- ended up going to MKXIV but never got a rarity jump. Ended up completely changing my build though and out more dil than I should have spent upgrading.

That said they look pretty cool.

they got 10% chance for rarity upgrade on mk 14? and how good their procs works? atm my protonic weapons almost never proc polaron proc while normal polaron and phased polaron proc a lot

If you have low Crit Hit rates, you'll never get any decent amount of Protonic Polaron Procs. That proc gives a chance to occur *IF* you make a critical hit.

If you have a great crit rate, say mid-high 20s or 30s, then you'll likely see more of the proc.

yeah but this is for protonic proc but protonic weapons never proced polaron proc (1 or twice in 10-15 mins)while had them now after i switched from protonic weapons to phased polaron and normal polaron bosses have allmost all the time polaron drain on them so think something is bugged on protonic weapons so i wonder are dominon weapons bugged on the same way to or they proc polaron drain like phased and normal polarons

If you want the same pair of proc in another weapon type, there is polarized tetryon. It comes in BAs or DBBs. It is, however, tetryon damage, and you'll need different set bonuses and tac consoles.

EDIT: D'oh, I misunderstood. Polarized tetryon don't have polaron proc. Never mind.

so is dominion polaron not much cop? in saving to collect and upgrade dominion dbb's, but it's that correct, the drain proc doesn't trigger as frequently as other types? I like the idea if the drain, which route of polaron gives the best chance of that?

skip the pol proc and get a plasmaonic leech console, way more drain and your power lvls benefit

Dominion Polarons are ... decent ... weapons, but you really need to build around them if you're going to get the most out of them. That means Flow Capacitors (skill and consoles) and at least 4 of them (2 fore, 2 aft) on a Science ship, or 6 of them (3 fore, 3 aft) on a Cruiser. And as mentioned, you'll want to combine that with a Plasmonic Leech console (slot in the Universal Engineering console slots). Put a Tyken's Rift and Energy Siphon into your Bridge Officer skills and you're all set to play Drain Boat.

Note that the above combination will frequently yield a Shield Drop in PvE, and do so MUCH MORE RELIABLY than using Phasers. PvP is a different story (of course).

plasmonic leech console sounds like a great idea, very effective...sounds like getting your hands in one can be a drama though!
