queues still empty

it seems that the rewards weren't the only thing which left the queues empty.

- Infected the conduit advanced : not difficult
- khitomer vortex advanced: not difficult

but borg disconnected advanced, and others are too difficult (defend rhi'ho station, elachis are really OP).

and please, fix vicious cycle advanced, we need argonite gas

optionals are just ridiculous; change the word or remove them.

btw don't try Gorn minefield with MK XII gears; even this average stf has been nerfed

could you please use this to go back before DR, thx :P

By the time I get done with Mirror Invasion for all of my characters, I am in no mood to do any further queues. I suspect this is the case for a large number of people.

Someone has YET to explain to me what about Borg Disconnect is anything resembling difficult?
You only need one person on the team who is able to solo an area saving ships?
Either by having abilities to prevent interuption of interactions with the disconnected ships (pilot expertise, cloak, etc) or who can keep aggro off himself during the first phase via pets.
Once the Undine arrive it becomes so much easier because Borg/Undine fight each other and you can mostly stop shooting and concentrate on saving ships.
Once the Voth come into play this gets even more easier.

The rest of the map can split into 2 man teams where one keeps the Borg busy while the other saves ships without aggro.

    This is not rocket science!!!

DPS is not needed in any way until you fight the boss ships at the end.

    Difficulty aside....

Most of the missions you listed just aren't fun. It has nothing to do with rewards or optionals.

I need a cup or two of coffee to get thru khitomer vortex because its so mind numbingly boring.

Folks are doing MI for the bonus... and the revamp to the mob HP in normal and advance did not go live...

And the quote in my sig rings true...

Borg Disconnected is easier than ISA if you actually use strategy.

Rh'Ihho Station...are you kidding me? Was beating this on elite the day I hit 60. Bring something with shield penetration and a team that knows what they're doing in the second phase.

Viscous Cycle does need to be fixed, I'll give you that.

Optionals...meh, how often did they fail before? Practically never, unless you had a lousy team. I'm fine with them being required. Most of the new optionals are pretty boring, though. Beat the clock, yay.

Haven't tried Gorn Minefield yet, but based on the rest of the complaints, I'll hazard a guess that it's fine.

Well the mirror event is keeping many people busy.

The chance at walking away with nothing is too high. The optionals need to remain optional. I understand doing poorly and getting poor rewards, but getting nothing? don't waste my time. At the very least is should reset and let you try again, never have I seen a game that actually kicks you out of the instance for a failure. The only time you should ever leave an instance before it is beaten is if you give up.

Are you sure? My MI runs last nigtht were even easier than they had been. Was bordering on boring really. Seemed like the mirror NPC's were dying just looking at the funny.

It mostly the whole not getting enough disconnected ships to not automatically fail on advanced becuase not enough are spawning.

I have around 1 success and 10 to 15 failures in this mission. You describe the actions of a premade team. I have yet to convince a pug to split into different groups on the map. Suggestions are met with silence. I would like to be able to enjoy pugging this mission. But that's just not possible with these required optionals. Same with Viscous, and Rhiho Station.

I can see if they are giving up on those others but the Borg one is brand new so it would be neat if more than you know 5 or 10 % can complete it and get the swell ancient power cells.

Yes I know you have a better chance to get them in bug hunt, but many people only do space.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

Sorry Yes HP was adjusted... the Starship Mastery cost reduction was what did not make it to live.

they are not that hard however we have a problem right now where some guy enters just to call people names and "baddies" etc so no one wants to play under those conditions I know I sure dont my ignore list is growing at an alarming rate because of the poor sportsmanship and extremely rude behaviour what is likely a handful of players. I have stuff coming out of my ears on the guys that I enter the advanced for so the only reason i do it is for fun and a bit of variety unfortunately I can't be bothered to q any characters that dont actually need anything out of those instances any longer when someone enters not to help but to literally sit at the entrance calling everyone names. People are complaining about the developers killing the game right now its poor player attitudes killing it more then anything add to that the afk issue (which is out of hand in some of the normal instances) you have a bunch of dead q's which wont be coming to life unless people's manners change among other things. I will just bring my guys through who need to be there and do other stuff on the fully geared guys.

It's going to take time for the STF queues to recover. They are a boring, long and hopelessly difficult for people who used to be 'elite'.

I want to put the emphasis on 'who were elite'.

There was an animated discussion yesterday about how the fun was sucked out of the game. Most of the people involved in the discussion were former players who've left in the past 2 weeks.

Regardless of who they were said essentially the same thing.

'The game was boring, but tolerable before DR. After DR it was simply too difficult, and none of them wanted to buy into the 'dps over all' or DOA strategy implied by the chat channels and forum posts.

Changes have been implied by the flurry of posts this week. Some had to be postponed until a later update. My hope is that it will attract back some of the old players and maybe some new ones.

In the meantime we've started a guild over in RIFT, and for the first time in over a year our fleet is having fun again as a group. Yeah, it's not Star Trek, but it is fun.

Serious question... why do you play this game? You openly admit to AFKing MI because it's "boring", you don't like stf missions because they're "boring". What, if anything, do you find enjoyable?

this is also my opinion. i can't team with a lot of my fleet teamates; they have jobs, rl and we don't have the same timezone (for the majority of them).

btw i don't want to buy the tr-something; i like my current gun.
