Got to level 60... that's it?

Amidst all the outrage of nerf bats and stolen XP and endless grinding

My less than stellar thoughts I share for enduring the grind to level 60 the non "exploitiive" ways... by the time I got to level 60... I was in the middle of a Mirror Invasion run when it happened... when I finished that run... I was at level 60... Fleet Admiral... with a new trait slot unlocked.... whooipe?

I finished the story missions at level 59, and still had a long way to grind to even get to 60... the story arc itself was kinda getting interesting toward the end, but the resolution fell flat imo

I felt like I ran a marathon around the world, by the time I crossed the finish line, nobody was there... nothing of note happened to say congratulations... you did it... but there's more content!

It's as if getting to 60... was like I got to some random low level in between rank that gave no recognition...

It was so anti-climactic...

This whole DR has been just hugely dissapointing.

At least a the pre-50 level days, when you hit a new rank that changed your title, they gave you a fake, but lame, celebration at ESD, saying "Congrats you're a captain, or a commander, or a Vice Admiral"

It was the quietest big whup ever...

Amidst all the whining and complaining aout nerfing ****, I still somehow survived and played through

I have almost no interest to grind for the specialization points if that was the kind of welcome I got by achieving the max rank.

Anyone else feel this way, or was my run bugged, and there should have been more of a "Hey... good on you buddy, you're a level 60 now... *balloons, and confetti*"

Any Admiral worth his salt vampires would scoff at a celebration for achieving Admiral.
    :D

Heroism is not a true admirals motivation, service and duty are his sole concern.

    :D

but exceptions can be made.... CONGRATS BRO !!! You DID IT !!!

You should have gotten the same congrats from Admiral Quinn same as for lvl 50, 55 and all the other lower lvls that this happens for. I did with my 3 fed toons that have reached lvl 60. Check you available tab in mssion window look under Admiral Quinns name and see if there is Promotion mission to do.

    An...interesting...thought has just occurred.

So. First we had traits, and as new reputations and lock boxes came out players built up so many passive traits it was considered OP or whatever. So Cryptic adds the active space/ground trait system to keep everyone on level footing and to ensure you can't have your cake and eat it.

Then they release this specialisation stuff, which is basically dumping a whole load of new traits into the system for 51+ levelled Captains and outside the active space/ground trait limitations.

In the future more specialisations will be released, and we'd be back to where we were before. To many passive effects negating the negative consequences of certain builds.

So what was the point in going through all that mess with traits in the first place?

This... pretty much a "to be continued" type thing. More story content will be coming.

Emergency, short-term duct tape decisions - with sudden onset short term memory loss.

Everything from doff UI, crafting, upgrading to the expansion was rushed out and left there, entirely un-finished.

There used to be a ceremony performed by a Bolian on ESD you could attend.
Shame it's not there anymore. It wasn'T much, but it was something.

These days, the guy just sits on a bench looking at starships passing by in spacedock.

If I had my way, they would make a door somewhere on ESD you could go to and interact that would trigger a cutscene in the new ceremony room.
Depending on which rank you achieved that ceremony would get bigger and more impressive.
They could allow team mates in, who can be seen among the clapping and cheering crowd, congratulating you and so on.

There is no reason not to do this except time on their schedule....

and then when the cutscene is played the game puts you into the new club 47 for the after party! XD

Hmmm... Taco? TACO!!!! Where are you? Makte this happen please !!! XD

    LOL...you need more like 110 levels....IGNORANCE is bliss :D:D:

Of course...still highly optional unless you want to be "obsolete" as compared to those who do want to specialize and reached ALL 50 extra spec levels
