Daily Dilithium Mining...

...Nerfed. (EDIT: or not... it seems I was mistaken) :o

Max reward is now 200 Dilithium.

I use to regularly get 324 for a score above 600.

Ah well, ya win some ya lose some.

A couple of days ago I got the full 1,000 from the mission. Are you comparing this run to a run during a dilithium event?

200 dil per dil crystal mine is standard. 324 for 600 is what you should have gotten during the Dilithium Mining event. Double dilithium from mining and an additional 50% dil from all other sources.

200 is the maximum per node.

It requires a score of 725 or higher to get 200.

This is how it's been for years.

I'm guessing the last time you did mining it was during a bonus Dilithium weekend. There was no reduction here.

Vlugta dilithium mine, during non event times always gives 200 dil per drill. For a max of 1k for 5.

    That might be it...

It's been a week or so since I last tried it.

Funny though, last week the most Dilithium I got with one of the Rich Claims was 4K

Tonight I got 5K with it.

I've not been all that regular with the mining mission.

So I just thought 324 was the norm.

Sadly, the mini-game is disproportionately influenced by server/net lag; I've had the reticle actually seize up when lag is heavy. The RNG also weighs in, sometimes altering the length of time that the reticle dwells on a single setting. A "normal" dwell time is 3-4 seconds, but there are times when I get no more than 1 second, and I'm having to chase the reticle alignment again. In those cases, more time is spent moving the aim point than actual drilling, and this always lowers the final score at a given drill node.

The only thing I've found helpful is to get my 'toon as close as possible to the node (sometimes right up against a large crystal) before starting the mini-game. If you're not already on the "normal" mining spot, the AI will try to move you to it, then you can start drilling. The advantage in taking the "blocked" position is that the AI won't be able to move the 'toon, and most of the time, the close proximity to the node center minimizes the number of keystrokes required to align the reticle in the "Z" axis (larger/smaller). Proximity has no effect on how much rotation is required, AFAIK.

You do realise the amount you get is tied in with the score you get.

Max reward is 200 norm, 5000 rich. at 735 points.
then as you score lower it drops to 160 / 4000, then 120 /3000, and i think 80 / 2000 is minimum, i havn't managed to get less.

During dil weekend, all mining is doubled. making max 400 / 10000.

And if you have access to a T3 mine, you can mine 15x 200 = 3000 + 480 = 3480 dil a day, + 5000 if you have a claim. Thats about a days worth of refining unless you have veteran :) (in which case you need a mere 520 mroe to cap out).

I forgot to mention that the "blocked" positioning is not necessary in the Fleet mines, because there is no "sweet spot" for the AI to move your alt into. The proximity trigger and RNG on dwell time still apply, however.
