Login2_TimeOut

jamaharonjamaharon Member Posts: 0 Arc User
So, this is pretty weird. On my main character—and only on my main character—when I log in and select the character and click "Play", the loading screen gets to just over 53%, then throws me back to a login prompt and a "Login2_Timeout — Press the Support button for additional help." error.

Just before I click "Play", the console says:
Using the [Live] config for the C-Store. Prefix=[ST] Currency=[StarTrekChain]
Message of the Day (Off)...

UNACCOUNTED FOR (0.57)

Not sure what that's all about, but here's what it does when I click Play:

UNACCOUNTED FOR (47.40)

Not sure if that's a Winsock error, but MSDN says:
Return code/value:
WSA_IO_PENDING
997

Description:
Overlapped operations will complete later.
  • The application has initiated an overlapped operation that cannot be completed immediately. A completion indication will be given later when the operation has been completed. Note that this error is returned by the operating system, so the error number may change in future releases of Windows.

I've got a ticket in... But, is there a switch for GameClient.exe (like the -console 1 option) for increasing the GameServer or LoginServer timeout?

Again, this is ONLY on my main character. Other characters on the same account log in fine.
Getting this out of the way before someone asks—Yes I have tried:
  • Checking the forums to see if the game was down for maintenance
  • Restarting my PC
  • Disabling antivirus or firewall software
  • Power cycling my modem/router
  • Selecting "Force Verify" from the launcher

For the sake of thoroughness, here's my ping and trace info:

This happens when launching normally or in safe mode.

A subsequent log in attempt will bring up an error message that says (complete with grammatical errors):
WARNING
An error occurred while transferring this character its destination map.

Would you like to safely log into this character's last non-mission map, or attempt to login normally?

               [ Cancel ] [ Normal Login ] [ Safe Login ]

Selecting either Normal Login or Safe Login results in the same Login2_Timeout error.

Currently, I am completely unable to log into this character—my main character—at all.

"Unlimited In-Game Mail Access" must mean something different to Cryptic than it does to English.

Well, it's not up for me.
    Login2_Timeout.

What more details do you need?

In consider it extremely bad judgement to prematurely close the Server Down thread, btw.
But go on, disgruntle me further.

I am merging threads relating to the Login2_TimeOut issue some players are experiencing to all the devs to better follow these reports.

Hmm.... that's a rather strange thread merge... the original thread was created back in October.... I'm not sure today's issues are related to this orginial problem.

Some one had replied to that original thread for today's problem which is why it was included in the merge. It is also a good example of someone giving plenty of information for the devs to look at to help resolve the problem.

I see... In any case the problem seems to have resolved itself. It's now working again for me so I suppose the issue was created by too many people trying to log in at the same time.

It's good to hear you are back in game. Is anyone else still having this problem?

I'm still stuck. It takes 9 minutes on the character select screen for the model to appear and the play button to be enabled. Once I click I play I get disconnected from the login server after another minute.
