2 odysseys, some other cruiser (maybe an ambassador? and 2 warbirds. I peeled left to get the close station. got it up, killed the three frigates and the rift. no one had got the station to the right.
got it killed the second set of frigates and the second rift. went for the third rift and got into a fight with 2 typhoons and a Luna. after that it was staying alive and killing cruisers until one of the warbird decided to come close the 4 rifts i was in the middle of.. seriously i have no idea what the heck happened, but there was zero teamwork till that warbird and I teamed up to get rifts closed. when the dread popped, 4 ships went after it. I went after the 3 remaining rifts. got them closed and the dread was sill @ 70%..
I do not put out huge DPS but I got the sense I was the heavy hitter. I certainly was the only one using team enabling powers
I always find myself in pugs trying to blow up the entire enemy mirror fleet and I seriously wonder what the hell the rest of the team is doing. Like are we all amazing and blowing up huge swaths of ships or is like one guy really invested in keeping that generator running? Like O'brien invested.

I am not certain, but I think the Dreadnaught's health or damage resistance is tied to the rifts being open. Because I have seen it not being scratched and then vaporized as soon as Obisek announces it is trapped.

Eh I don't think the rifts have anything to do with its health other than it jumping out to a rift. I know I've done Mirror where when I finished the last rift the ship was down to 20% and had been jumping a ton.
First, any player doing anywhere near a decent amount of damage should simply instantly kill everything in normal. Not talking super uber elite 50k dps.. just an average player doing 10-15k with average gear and a proper setup. If you're not doing this.. your boffs, doffs, consoles, weapons types, and weapon mods are not set up correctly.
Second.. the dreadnought doesn't get hurt before the rifts close because nobody hits it. At least, not anyone decent. Hurting it just makes it run away. While it can be funny to repeatedly make it disappear the second it comes out.. that gets old quick. I wait till I hear the last rift close, then press the button to pop it.
Yeah, I'm not even close to elite, but when I can blow up three groups of ships and close all three rifts, then turn and still see the same cruiser struggling with a frigate... a FRIGATE... on normal difficulty... I begin to wonder.
Teamwork generally has been getting better for me though since the launch of Mirror Universe as people remember and figure out how to do it, but every so often you get one of those head scratching moments of... whadafu...
Or the guy who yelled at me in general for closing the rifts... you know those cluster of rifts that seem to stack on top of each other... each one spitting out a Typhoon... yeah those... but I got yelled at for closing the rifts and not helping in killing off the Typhoons... that was an interesting conversation...

I've purposely tied up the dreadnaught a few times so it doesn't get too close to the station and begin to drop it's hit points... but that's only one ship and I purposely didn't pop any BOff abilities, only white damage so that I was drawing agro but not really hurting it.
I think AFK players are the much bigger problem here. At least the players in your run tried. Maybe it was their first run, maybe they needed the dilithium to buy the endgame gear they lack. Since you get your multidimensional transporter anyway it doesn't annoy me very much.
On the other hand those freeloading leeches who join and then remain AFK are a huge nuisance. I have seen everything. People not moving for the entire run. Others flying to the edge of the map to "hide". Then some people let themself get destroyed and remain dead till the dreadnought spawns. But my favorite is people who are trying to hide close to the station or behind energy collectors. It's as funny as it is tragic

o.O this makes me loose faith in sto players.... mostly because I have 0 problem believing its true after some of the pugs Ive had where it seemed like they left 200 portals on top of one another spawning typhoons and killing the station 4 or, in one case, 5 times before the dread appeared.

I would have put that guy on my ignore list so I would never get paired with them again.
I think I've only idled for a minute like once as I had to stretch my arm which was cramping up, but yeah try a run with afker's, that's the worst it can get.

I actually like when I can run in and engage a while group of npcs, and another teammate sneaks in behind me and closes rifts when I have them all busy. It's when I have my hands full trying to clear enemies and a teammate sits by a power node in a Scimitar and does nothing to help that makes me overheat.
I had some net connection issues last night and twice just after starting the MU event I got DC'd only to rejoin as the Final Dread entered through a portal. Apologies to those I was teamed with, but my ISP had other ideas about my connection...
Kinda amusing that I missed the runs and still got the item though!

thats' where I have been, fighting off typhoons till somone comes to close the rifts.
1.- Enter the MU with a science ship, and i alert that i'll be closing as much rifts as i can, but i'll need cover.
2.- Enter the MU in an Escort or Cruiser, get near the station, to see what others are doing and provide support fire/aggro.. so they can close the rifts and act
Depending on the character I'm running, I end up trying to do 1 of 2 things.
If I'm in my carrier, I set my pets to defend whoever is near a bunch of rifts, sidle in and start closing them all.
If I'm in my Torp'Varo, I end up trying to close rifts, but end up having to actively blow things up, which works, until 2 more rifts appear on top of me...
If I fly a sci ship, I'll often lurk around and watch to see what the aggro magnets are shooting at and close rifts near them.
If I'm not in a sci ship, I'll try to stay near a sci and be the aggro magnet. In teams that lack science, I might do portals while the other guys get shot at.
Do I need to mention that I got the Terran kill accolades a logn time ago?

Seriously, stories about running it on Normal are boring.
When the station goes down to 0% it recharges back to 100% shields and hull.

Doesn't work like that, unfortunately.
Boy, are there are days I wish it did.

My character Tsin'xing
How do you know it's the last one until you actually close it?
