To those junior officers who work tirelessly in cramped Jefferies Tubes, perish namelessly on away missions, or provide the endless streams of reports and analysis necessary for a starship to function – this event is dedicated to you!

I haven't used the DOFF system for anything but the occasional dilithium mining or contraband turn-in since the horrifyingly bad changes to the interface were made.

When I don't have to turn off every. single. career. filter. to find the DOFFs I'm looking for I'll consider using the system again.
@Venture-1. @Venture from City of Heroes if you remember that. Yes, that Venture. Yes, I probably trashed your MA arc. You'll have to be specific; for me it was Tuesday.

Ever since the 'revamp' the doff system has been a mess. It was ok for awhile until they added the completion timegate for assignment turn ins. I'm definitely not as passionate about doffing as I was, and I'm waiting for the inevitable extreme monetization of the doff system like we've seen with other parts of the game. :(

Sad face, Why can't the romulans have their own special doff for this event? We know its in the system, its there, just pop it out already!

Well I still have commendation categories to fill so this is nice enough. Got the exocomp last time though.

Also why didn't this show up in the dev tracker?

Can we get someone from Cryptic to address this five to ten second "timegate" for a single doff assignment to complete?

How about someone from Cryptic even acknowledge that this is a problem? Otherwise, I'm assuming that this "timegate" is intentional to keep players from benefiting from the doff system too much.

Can someone tell me where I can find Commander Rojal?
I was told he was next to the Security Officer in New Romulus Command, but...

You're still thinking of the old paradigm, where you actually cared about doffing... just let the system auto-fill and run nothing but the assignments that provide crafting materials, Prisoners, Colonists, or have a #/#. If you were actually interested in doffing as a mini-game, the new system is a loss, but it still has its uses.

That said, everything about the old system was better. :P

As far as the weekend... the last one I ran I did once. Just once. It ate up all of my traces and gave me... nothing. So I went back to my normal activities... I think I'll stick with Mirror Invasion this time. ;)

cramped JTs? away missions? streams of analysis? to....keep a starship functioning? I've discovered more sitting on my toilet thinking, than I have sitting at my desk.

:mad:SO, An 'event' for the average joe nobody working 9 to 5, eh? Nice. How about YOU treat Me to Starbucks for once? Instead of leaving me to 'F'ail with my PC whenever YOU 'have a headache'. News Flash: consider the fuse 'lit' and safe-tease off. Periods normally occur at the end of a sentence, right? How long is the old ball & chain these days? Game on, as expected. Puys. thanks, Laughing Trendy (seriously).

Nice Commercial, btw. But, no ty. I don't need/want more 'free' Bonus Commendation XP. IIRC, that's how I ended up with a LTS. [the biggest...] Time to keep walking.

    End Rant.

Plus VR doffs are fairly cheap at the moment on the exchange, it's not like the VR doff boxes drop any 30-40mil ec doffs

With the doff system being as slow as it is these days it is no longer fun to use it..before that I logged in at least 3 times a day to see what my crew does, but now maybe 2-3 times a week. The timegate was one of cryptics worst ideas and it is starting to kill the rest of my fun. So this time I am out!

I *used* to check the Doffs on all my captains that had them. Now with the two minutes of nothing per captain, just one.

I *used* to play a lot of captains, now I can only afford one.

I *used* to have multiple gear sets per ship, now I can only afford one, and I better like it because I can't afford to change it.

Hmm, I also used to fly a lot of ships, now I can only afford the free upgrade ones, I'm seeing a pattern here.
This is my Risian Corvette. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Commander Rojal Was dropped last time so romulans didn't get to participate. From the blog it is unclear if we will get him this time, or not.

the official word is that it is a fix to a bug keeping some kdf missions from completing or being deletable. End result was several captains had doff slots become useless. This "fixed" the issue. Nevertheless, it totally sucks.

I believe the answer is no. The blog is very clear that romulans get their allied doffs from the event (exocomp or reman). Romulans did get to participate. Just go to your faction's academy and talk to the contact to get their special doff. For my reman allied with fed I have the exocomp and my romulan allied with KDF has the reman doff. I got them 2 events ago when the broken mission to get a lib borg romulan version was available.

This is what Captain Smirk said the last time this event ran http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=18636201&postcount=53
Your Special DOffs from the Junior Officer Appreciation event...

    Feds get the Exocomp
    KDF get the Reman

Both of whom you can obtain from the event contact at their Faction's respective Academies.

As far as the Romulan DOff, as many of you have seen from the update to the event, Rojal no longer exists on the map, and will not be returning.

The last time we ran this event, there was a bit of old data that crept its way into this event that had an unfortunate consequence for some of our Romulan players.

During the event, an old Romulan-only version of the Reinforcements mission was available on New Romulus Command asking players to talk to a contact that no longer exists. As a result, the mission was not able to be completed and many players were confused as to what they needed to do in order to get their special Duty Officer.

Had the NPC been able to give Romulan players the correct mission on New Romulus Command, they would have been directed to either Starfleet or Klingon Academy, based upon their factional allegiance, to talk to the same contacts used by Federation and Klingon players to receive their special Duty Officer: an Exocomp for Federation-aligned Romulans, and a Reman for Klingon-aligned Romulans.

We apologize for any inconvenience experience by players during this event. We have taken steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again during this Junior Officer Appreciation Weekend Event, and when it is run again in the future.

While this will remain forever on my never forget list, it will be because I couldn't bring you the Romulan Liberated Borg DOff everyone was expecting.

While I have been able to help out with other issues and requests over the last several months, this time I won't be able to bring you this reward.

I'm very sorry I can't create this DOff for you all. but I sincerely hope you enjoy this weekend event, and that you are able to complete the event mission to get your hands on many high quality DOffs during the current running.

    Thanks for your understanding everyone!

    ~CaptainSmirk

In other words, it was always intended for romulans to get their allied faction's doff during this event and the mission to talk to Rojal should have never happened.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's something else here than that. The mission was programmed into the game, and a unique doff was created(including a special picture). Either plans changed AFTER it was created, or it had a different purpose than this event.
