My advanced Peregrine fights have a hull strength of 6.335 compared to my ships hull of 78.748. How are they tougher than my ship? I don't get it. They also blow up all the time in every battle i have to resspawn them at least 4 times. And this is on normal. Saucer sep. I lose hull strength What numbers am i missing here.

Yea, I don't get their idea to nerf hitpoints on hangar pets. Right now on my maxed out Romulan (level 60 + 60/60 specializations) my hangar pets don't seem to have that much HP. It's also odd in that the tooltip says I'm launching level 51 pets though I'm level 60.
Umm, look up what happens at level 60, you wind up with pets with more health than you. Ok, the system works far better that way, but, it is technically broke.
I am 60 with all specializations and look at my post directly above on exactly how much HP my pets have. It's very low. My Jem'Hadar Dreadnought has 60,867 HP, which seems like it is the same as it was when my character was 50, but still that's more than the pets.

Correction on my numbers. It appears there is some sort of hit point and level scaling in the Alpha Quadrant. Is this a documented feature of the game?...nevermind... I completely missed that in the documentation.
In my previous posts I was checking the HP numbers in the Sol. Dyson Sphere. Now I'm sitting in the Jenolan Sphere in Delta Quadrant and I see these numbers:
Basic explination is that Cyptic accidently buffed pets with the increase of levels and enemies in DR. So they are reverting it. It's a bug, they're fixing it.
There is a bigger issue however, is that before the accidently buff pets were a bit too squishy, and were way to easily destroyed by anything resembling AoE when compared to their NPC counter-parts. The fact that they were constantly being destroyed meant that they constantly had to be resummoned, effecting the dps of both the pets (as they took time to fly out and be useful, not to mention the loss of stars) and the dps of the carrier (due to the time it took to click the button to launch the pets).
So while the buff may have been a bit much (with pets with more HPs then certain ships) it was a much needed buff, to help keep pets becoming nothing more then AoE fodder.
The outcry isn't over the fact that they're nerfing pets (which is a minsnomer, they're actually fixing pets) but the fact that pets needed a buff, have needed one for ages, and the bug was actually very much needed, it just went a bit overboard.
Those pet numbers match mine for level 60. You may have been in a zone that set you level down...Much of the lower level content does.
Only pets that have hull greater than the carriers are the Frigates. Though runabouts at 52280 are higher than sone Tactical ships.
What most peolpe can't see is the damage scale...if it scaled like the hull then may be way off.
Survivability is still an issue.
But play styles are a huge factor here. If you send the pets in to do the work and stand off...they will "out perfoprm" you...
What we are seeing is an unintended consequence I suspect. Does it need to be fixed? Only if they do a complete pass on survivability/ hull breaches / ai...quality of life - loosing pets when the mission takes you to another screen.
I think pets should still be there - with whatever stars they have gained that mission.

I think it is hilarious that pet AI has sucked for so long but then this issue comes up with pets having too much health and dps and we got a swift response to it. The changes were needed, but i guess its just relatively easier to go and chop health and dps output by a certain percent. But coming up with pet AI that makes them move away from warp core breaches? haha...yah right.
I actually posted a thread a while back and wasnt surprised that just 1 person bothered to reply. I was saving up a bunch of dil which i was going to convert into EC so i could buy a JHDC. But i'm just not happy with the pet AI. So instead of a JDHC i slowing down my dil farming and ended up blowing my saved dil on 3-4k zen worth of misc stuff and another 3k zen on a T6.

dang it and the aquarius pet for the odyssey was just becoming useful
Changed the scaling of all carrier fighters damage, shields, and hit points so they scale relative to the player and not the NPCs.
Previously, the fighters were scaling at too high of a rate of damage, shields, and hit points.

Because someone somewhere thinks this is an exploit and gives you an unfair advantage over those who choose not to use combat pets. God forbid my advanced Romulan drones or advanced delta flyers at lvl 61 are actually helpful. God forbid I actually paid the extra cash to get a ship with hangars just to USE this pets in the first place.
And God forbid that in a game that is SO pve oriented to the point that pvp has been broken for YEARS that someone complain that my drones/flyers are keeping me alive like they are supposed to.
Yes, I agree that neither of this ships should have a greater hull strength than my Scim or Gal X. I see that point clearly. Bur being smaller, faster and sneakier they should compensate for that lower hull HP by being increasingly more difficult to target, no?
Hopefully, at least, it may not be a double nerf. In other words, the nerf they got recently on advanced level due to npc HP reduction might not factor into this.
We'll see how bad of a nerf it is I guess tomorrow. My guess iit's going to be quite epic. In preparation for epic. Just let me pay zen or dil for the epic please.

Yah since it wasnt even in the patch notes a few days ago i just figured they were going to do it in steps. But once i see it in the patch notes *then* i'll pay attention to their health and survivability.

Here are my pets' hit points by type.
Advanced Jem'Hadar Attack Ship: 35,363
Type 10 Shuttle: 2,967
Advanced Peregrine Fighter: 3,166
Elite Obelisk Swarmers: 2,121
Elite Scorpion Fighters: 3,166
Elite Tholian Widow Fighters: 2,967
Reducing these values just doesn't seem right. The fighters and shuttles are an absolute joke in terms of HP.
Yep, I've seen 9k DPS pets reported. Not sure how true it is, but...
Sure it is broke, but the game is definitely better for this being broke.
It is that overscaling that they are nerfing, not their usual values
Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
In my previous posts I was checking the HP numbers in the Sol. Dyson Sphere. Now I'm sitting in the Jenolan Sphere in Delta Quadrant and I see these numbers:
Jem'Hadar Dreadnought: 84,684
Advanced Jem'Hadar Attack Ship: 87,133
Type 10 Shuttle: 7,311
Advanced Peregrine Fighter: 7,802
Elite Obelisk Swarmers: 5,288
Elite Scorpion Fighters: 7,802
Elite Tholian Widow Fighters: 7,311
So, yea I see what you mean about the frigate pet health. The fighter health seems low enough though.

Level 60 scaled to level 50 (undine space BZ)
T5U Vesta
36967 hull
Advanced Danubes
0 stars 21217 hull
1 star
2 stars 21557 hull
3 stars 21727 hull
4 stars 21896 hull
5 stars 22066 hull
level 60 and scaled to level 60 (DQ patrol)
T5U Vesta
52627 hull
Advanced Danubes
0 stars 52280 hull
1 star 52698 hull
2 stars 53116 hull
3 stars 53534 hull
4 stars 53953 hull
5 stars 54371 hull
Thanks. That helps clarify things. Also, the numbers I posted each time were out of combat so no stars on the pets.
Does anyone have some DPS data on pets?
