Eclipse Intel Cruiser: USS MUGETSU 20k DPS

NOTE: Stated performance numbers are what I get with this ship.

U.S.S. MUGETSU

my first ISA run with this i got 20k DPS single target. it's still a rough build and i'm not quite yet used to the ship; i suspect i can push this to 30k DPS single target.

You can note a few things:
No FAW
No A2B
running the gimmick console
very few items upgraded

    By that I gather surgical strike is worth it?

    not sure yet. but i do know my beam cruiser can now spike like DHC boat.

    Out of interest how durable do you find the Eclipse? I see you've only got the 3 heals on there.

    Is the fancy console as useful as it first sounds, also does it conflict with any other other heal/siphon abilities you can have access to (i'm thinking the assimilated space set here)

    That is very close to the build I am running myself. only thing I don't have, is the RMC, and I'm running one Shield heal from Engineering. (Engine cap.)

    Gonna try out your boff settings later today.

    Why no A2B? I'm thinking of running a build similar to this (except with crappier equipment..) on the Eclipse, and I'd have thought that an A2B build would be more efficient?

    A2B is not the be all and end all players make it out to be.

    What is needed in a build for DPS is TT, weapon skill, attack pattern up constantly.

    In Sarcasm's build, Surgical Strikes functions as a weapon skill, and the doffs and doubling up on abilities enables as constant uptime as can be done.


    That is what A2B is used for, to mimic this effect of skill uptime - it is a sub-optimal way to work however for reasons I am too tired to cover right now...

    Been doing similiar setups, as posted on the Builds subforum, and it is a quite enjoy playstyle. I'd suggest Expoiters over Locators though. It operates like a High Yield Torpedo Boat; it's all about maximizing your critical damage multipliers - Surgical Strikes more than takes care of the Crit rate.

    Why not beam banks with turrets aft instead of beam arrays? With Intel powers you do not need same weapon systems anymore.

    I seen you put the Dyson shield as elit. If you have it at elite can post a picture of its stars ? Im interested what rep grear gets at elite

    Is there any reason you went with Phased Biomatter rather than Rom Plasma or Anti Proton or ???

    I do not consider myself in any way, shape or form a PVE dps expert, but have you considered replacing the first surgical strikes with OSS III? I am running a cc Intel qib with a similar layout tactical wise, and I find that OSS is absolutely insane. I can actually FAW vape in it, which is pretty funny as is.
    But I have not yet tested surgical strikes, so I might just be off my rocker in believing OSS is a spike ability sent from God.

    How did you get OSS III?

    I'ts from one of the vr boffs fromt eh Operations packs. It's random though...

    You should also be able to train OSS III once you get high enough in the Intel specialization.

    Nah, that's Surgical Strikes - it's ludicrously awesome.:D Though beware that it turns some weapons into Phasers (no problems with any of my BAs). Dunno, unless you've got any hard to come by BOFF abilities that you wouldn't want to lose, it's cheap enough to temporarily retrain your Intel BOFFs, and have a nice play around with the new abilities. You can always go back to what you had before for a few hundred EC....

    It's really important to me, following last week's dire patch, for reasons I've gone into elsewhere.     sure, i'll parse a couple SB234 very soon and post them here.

    Right now i'm leveling my Dauntless, but i'll be ditching it as soon as i get it's mastery.

    Thanks very much! I wish that every game had such non-elitist Elite players as you guys.:) I've got to start levelling all my Fed T6 ships too, just for the Traits; I insta-Mastered my Eclipse, but can't bring myself to use any other of the new ships... my lovely Izumrud is just too much fun, despite her being seriously afflicted with every STO bug under the sun, in spades.

    Would be interested in seeing the Dauntless build. I want the auto-heal bubble, but as someone who has never been a sci-ship flier I'm dreading even trying.
