Question about Episodes...

Im guessing many would consider this a dumb question from a lifer. Ive been gone from the game for years. Migrated away from mmos in general. I am a lifer though and have started playing again. Have a long way to catch up to the changes that have occurred. thankfully a ton of zen to help me. I for whatever reason can't find an answer to this question. Im an admiral 50...but I only finished the klingon war missions plus lots of other random little things. In order for me to do the Cardassian Stuggle missions do I need to do the entire two story arcs that I havent even started to start the Cardassian one. I will do them, but Id rather like to be able to get for instance the Jem'Hadar space set equipment which requires the Cardassian struggle then go back and maybe do some earlier missions. Ive done the Klingon front but none of the second series or the Romulan third series. I am a very casual player but Im curious if there is something Im missing in terms of unlocking the Cardassian struggle.

    You can just skip the mission in between, there are however some you cant skip. Those not-skipable ones are "saying hi or bye"-Missions, so they take like 2minutes, since you only have to meet a contact and talk with them.

    All real story-missions (e.g. those with an actual story) are skippable. So I would estimate 10min if you dont like missionstranswarps to get to cardassian struggle. Far less if you use mission transwarps.


    P.S.: JH-Set isnt that good, there is especially better shields in "were angels fear to thread" for borg stfs, undine misison and Crystalline catastrophe and voth (borg using plasma, the others antiproton).

    Some some of those episodes to unlock the newer story missions Ill have to play through...I tried going to the admiral to start up Cardassian Struggle for example and even though Im a VA it doesnt let me start it up which I thought weird. I do want to do some of those higher tiers which of course if I can jump stories would be good to get to first. Trying to get some of the better gear first then play through some of the full stories. For some reason though I cant even start the full arc of Cardassian stories yet and im guessing its because I havent started or finished the second tier story or the Romulan third tier story. Ill take any recommendations on how to get some marginally good gear for a 50 ship for a tac escort...ie the deflectors and consoles etc. I am fleetless...and will likely join a fleet if I play regularly enough but some passable gear because some of mine is kinda a joke. I was looking to do some missions where I could guarantee at least some tier x1-x12 stuff but able to run it in garbage gear to get said better gear before I tackle something like Delta Rising.

    For gearing up, the New Romulus reputation marks are are great way. Each Daily and Hourly marks mission (hit U then the Reputation tab) gives a reward that is a Very Rare XI or XII ground or space weapon. Do this for a few days and you'll have a ship full of them.

    The New Romulus staging area ground mission daily is less than 10 minutes after you've done it a couple of times. TheTae Dewa sector patrol is closer to 45 minutes if you patrol Beta Theridor (sp?)_ 5 times, but you can get some decent loot out of it.
