The patch notes state:
Delta Quadrant Patrol Systems:
Resolved an issue where all Delta Quadrant Patrol missions were always rewarding a Mk XII Phaser Beam Array.
It will now always grant a different Mk XII Space Weapon, of any weapon and energy type.
What they did not specify was that the MK XII Space Weapon is now of Rare Quality (Blue) and not Very Rare (Purple).
Never going to get those [Acc}x3 Weapons as a reward anymore.

'As l speak now, the words are forming in my head.
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
If they'd of thought about it, they'd of added a choose one: Phaser/disruptor/plasma and, called it good.

Cryptic, PWE, please look at the number and frequency of forum-goers lamenting the way the game has been changing lately, specifically with relation to rewards being nerfed and missions changed.
We know that the number of people playing STO isn't increasing, and in fact seems to be dwindling. This is why.
I predicted long ago that as the game became more grindy and more tightly focused on herding players to the cash shop that the player-base would dwindle, and that the people who truly call the shots with STO, the penny pinchers whose only metric for success is profitability, would, instead of making the game better, reflexively go back to the same strategies of monetizing that are driving players away. That this would form a cycle, action-reaction, the more players leave, the less money is spent, the more money the shot-callers try to squeeze out of the players remaining, which drives some of those players away, which means less money is spent..
I said that back when Dilithium was implemented more than two years ago.
Please stop proving me right. I just came back to the game after a long time away where I swore I'd never return. I came back because a friend of mine who'd kept playing begged me to. Most potential and past players out there don't have that kind of motivation to try STO or return.
If I could send one message to the head honcho who really calls the shots with what changes are made to the game, the guy or gal who can authorize Cryptic and STO to operate at a loss for a few years if necessary even, then it would be this:
Every successful business is profitable overall, but not every successful business is profitable all the time. STO needs massive changes in direction, quality, and focus, and the ever-more-obvious focus of the game on herding the players to buy Zen is a direct obstruction to that. Please, re-invest in Cryptic and STO, and not with voice actors. Bring in Dev teams to create free PvE mission content, resurrect and re-balance PvP, bring back the Featured Episodes, expand them even, increase Dilithium rewards, reduce prices in the Z-Store, focus on making the game fun and worthwhile to play, in order to attract more players, rather than squeezing as much out of the players you have. It's better to get $1 apiece from 100 people than $1.10 from 90. So if it's up to you, you need to make the call, and if it's not up to any one person, then you need to convince them, the board, the stockholders, whoever, that the long term survival of STO as a product is more important than this quarters profits.

Additionally, the multi-patrol missions are now un-replayable.
Indeed. WTF were you thinking here, Cryptic? Not enough people upgrading blue standard gear? Thisw won't boost zen/dil sales.

I admit, it is taking a lot more to surprise me than normal. That's a bad thing
I got 6 for my TAC Toon's oddy and battle cruiser (although the battle cruiser will more likely use fleet DBBs)
I was looking forward to some for beginner weps of other flavors for my alts (as opposed to rep/fleettthey'll use eventually)
Blah
300 seconds of forum timer down the tubes..
I'd pay the bypass fee, but I need my dil
