This too is working as intended... also addressed in the 10/23 patch notes...

"This update will set the skill point earn rate to 2.0x normal.
Prior to Delta Rising the earn rate was 1.75x normal."

So the previous "5X" xp you were getting in Elite has been officially declared a bug (and never intended) and those who took advantage of it was exploiting the bug to increase their leveling... which is why folks had their Spec points taken away.

The current XP is how the game will is suppose to be and is now working as intended.

On a side note: Pre-DR the HP of mobs in Elite was 2X that of normal, for killing elites you got 1.75 times the XP of normal. So boosting mobs HP to 6X and awarding 5X xp was totally not intentional.

Basically they made the cost benefit curve for elite 1/3 the benefit of normal, so playing on elite for anything more then the challenge of a keeping your bladder in check during a 45 minute long space battle is completely stupid.

Is it wrong for me to both want and dread this patch.

Only because that list is huge and fear 1+ gb patches. ><

By the way. Well at least I can save 700 Zen on an upgrade doodad. More zen to the Pack plan~

Yet no acknowledgement of the Fleet Graviton Generator upgrade bug? Much less a fix? I reported it over a week ago and there's a two-page thread of other players with the same issue.

How about the skill tray/load-out/vanishing equipment and crew leaving their stations bug? We're in week three of this bug. I finally figured out a work-around on my current main character (with no help or information from cryptic) so it's dropped from a completely game killing bug to just incredibly annoying. I still occasionally have an item missing from my ship, usually the last item I upgraded (yes, even if I saved the load-out), or a crewman leave a station but it's not as game killing as having my entire game tray vanish.

in the patch notes there was mention of R&D fixers. I was wondering if the R&D system was going to have more levels. I cant find the aticle but I was sure I saw it mentioned that the max level was going from 20 - 30. is/was that happening ? or maybe someone just asked if it was happening. im very easerly confused. its not a good thing. LOL

All right, let me sum it up:

    The GOOD:

    - Undine Infiltration returns.
    - Talaxians for lifers. (I'm silver)
    - Omni directional AP beam turret can now be used with an AP crafted beam turret. Very nice.
    - TRIBBLE space snake mines hit for less - needed, they can one hit you in normal.
    - Upgrade system fixes.
    - Romulan aligment bug fixes.
    - Dyson ship and T6 ship hull materials.
    - Long hair for Romulan girls. Its about time! :D

    The BAD:

    - No XP boost.
    - No nerf to advanced enemies.
    - Hierarchy boff changes.
    - The launcher converts maintenance time badly backwards.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

Just to note: While the token is one character per account... the effect of the token is an account wide unlock. Using a ship upgrade token unlocks the T5U upgrade on all ships of that type on your account forever (and also covers both the fleet and non-fleet variants, where there is one).

hmm... ok, i might missed that lol. though that only makes it more ridicoulous imo :D... while u can get a much more worthwhile upgrade (in most cases) per account u still have to buy fleet variants and still have no way to make ur ships top of the line (ships like the wells or latest design like avenger/dyson, whatsoever).
u also have to bind that token to a ship u may only want to fly on one toon while it may stays worthless for others. wouldn't it be better/more convenient to customers to let em choose one ship per toon?
btw, i'd really like to read that in a dev-blog (might just missed it as said) so if ya got link it would be appreciated ;).

Resolved an issue where all Delta Quadrant Patrol missions were always rewarding a Mk XII Phaser Beam Array.
    • It will now always grant a different Mk XII Space Weapon, of any weapon and energy type.
Curious, but does this reward still come with the [Acc]x3 modifier, or has that also been randomized?

I know this has been mentioned already, but it is horrible so here it is again. What about the problems with the power tray? This is a major bug that makes the game near unplayable and it is not mentioned in the fixes. It is not even mentioned in the "known issues". Are we to assume that this game breaker is here to stay?

Quick fix: Set up your tray, then switch to another ship while in space, and then switch back. It'll 'save' the power tray when you swap out.

Liking the lifetime perk, just going to be difficult to decide where to use it. Its a shame it isn't like the T5 ship token, so each character we go through gets at least T5U, but still, very nice little gift, cheers.

    aint it hilarious.
this boffs inactive trait was "fixed" last week, yet they didnt notice that the space trait is a ground trait
    and completely disfunctional still.
do they even test the **** they do?

apparently not, a 300 lobi boff is way less important than the hierarchy fattie.
which "too" gets "fixed" this week, without even acknowledging
that kdf got him as a fed version with no way to retrieve him.

    It would be much appreciated!

I also note that KHG honor guard ground upgrade is bugged. When upgrading to 14 it shows upgraded stats but then when you add the materials and upgrade it stays at 13.

As many fixes as there are here, they're minor details compared to the real issues.

    1) Dilithium rewards need putting back to sensible levels, time vs reward is pathetic right now.
    2) xp needs boosting up because again, the difference between normal and elite is way off, and it ought to be higher anyway across the board, but at the end of the day the rewards do not reflect the increases in difficulty.
    3) Reduce the dilithium costs in the upgrade system, it's not alt friendly. Then the game generally isn't at the moment anyway....
    4) Make the specialization points account bound so that it doesn't matter what character you're on, you'll be making progress towards them, that would be a massive boon to alts right there.

There are others but those are my main gripes, and until I see them sorted in the patch notes I simply can't accept you're getting priorities right. And if I might add, giving us a 300 second timer on the forum is not going to make these issues go away, if anything it's become the latest joke.

    New Subscriber Bonuses:

    Lifetime Subscription
    Talaxian Playable Species
Talaxians are now available as a new playable species for Federation and Klingon factions.
Talaxians are available for players with lifetime accounts.
This is retroactive to anyone that has purchased a lifetime subscription

PLEASE, confirm that this is for real, and not just a Dev joke in regards to some players being annoying in regards to DR...since some people keep trying to convince me it is?
It's kinda difficult for me to refrain from doubting the validity of this claim, seeing as it's not on Tribble, FIRST, but then again, neither is my Playable Liberated Borg Reman...or any possible way to claim at least HALF of my Veteran "Rewards" on Tribble.
So...basically...due to these circumstances being what they are, I'm a bit confused about this statement's validity.

On a side note, I'd also love to have genuine Talaxian parts in the Alien Generator so I could make a Vulcan/Talaxian hybrid...CAPTAIN Tuvix!
    Woot!
"Join Date: Jun 2012" Says Cryptic's "new" forum system. I've been here since a week before launch, but SOME stuff just didn't carry over through multiple system changes/updates.

    there you go: http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/7002133
A notable benefit of upgrading a Tier 5 ship is that the upgrade is available across your entire account.

Example: If I upgrade my Avenger Battlecruiser on my Starfleet tactical captain, I can upgrade an Avenger Battlecruiser from T5 to T5-U on any character that also owns this ship for free.
    [...]
Q: So, if I pay for an upgrade on a starship, that upgraded starship will be available to all my characters that can fly that ship?

    A: Correct!
You only need to pay the upgrade fee once.
and from the release notes: http://www.arcgames.com/de/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/7010463-release-notes-october-14th,-2014
Upgrading a ship which has a Fleet version will upgrade the Fleet version for free.

Similarly, upgrading a Fleet ship will upgrade its corresponding standard version for free.

I would like to say that these patch notes look very promising. Honestly, this is what we should be seeing every week. I play Eve religiously and the devs there are awesome. They communicate with their players on the forums every single day and they know how to HTFU ("they're being too mean and scary for me to visit the forums" is not a valid excuse). That video was written, sung, and acted by the devs themselves! I'm really tired of being let down by STO. Anyway, nice patch notes -- would be nice to see some of the issues we've mostly been discussing with one another at the very least acknowledged.

    From the patch notes:
Resolved an issue that was causing Federation Aligned Romulans to sometimes receive KDF aligned Duty Officers from the R&D Assistance assignment.

What will happen to ones already received? I actually bought a KDF-aligned Rom boff on the Exchange about a week ago, and had activated her and assigned her a slot. DIdn't even realize she was a KDF-Rom until I went to edit her uniform (to match her up with my bridge crew) and found that she only had KDF uniform options.

Hasn't worked for me. I think I've tried every 'workaround' I've seen pop up in the forums, or anywhere. Pisses me off they're not even acknowledging it as a known issue, even though devs have asked for more examples. But I guess if it's not happening to 100% of the players 100% of the time, it's no priority.
