New Mirror Invasion Event

ceekayzeroceekayzero Member Posts: 411 Arc User
New Mirror Invasion Event looks cool; perhaps the Cochran Shotgun will be a free pulsewave version of the TR-116B? It would make DRSE a lot easier.

A few questions, though:

1. Will it be scaled for Level 50 or Level 60?

2. Will it award R&D Queue Packs?

3. Will we be able to get Delta Marks for it?

4. Will it have "fail" conditions, like the new Advanced Queues?

    1. Probably the same as the other queues. Normal is 50, Advanced and Elite are 60.

    2. More than likely.

    3. If it's anything like last time, it'll let you choose any marks.

    4. Count on it for Advanced and Elite. Might want to save yourself the trouble and just play on normal.

I loved the old Mirror Event for leveling up my captain or gettin an expertise buffer for my newly rank 50 captains.

    Hopefully this event is fun.

As long as it's ACTUALLY a lvl 50 event like they say, then it will probably be quite enjoyable.

but i'm sure they'll find a way to move the goalposts and dissapointnthe plyerbase yet again.

In before event is bugged and has lvl 50 enemies so lvl 60 players that do it are called exploiters for levelling too fast.

Well here's a question the post mentions a rare duty officer then in the details we see the gun... So what's correct?

They mention a VR DOff at the start of the article but not in the details of the rewards. This leads me to believe that the DOff is too good to be true and 17x faster than anywhere else in the game; therefor it got rolled back.

I wonder if we won't get a feature episode replay this fall? I enjoy mirror, too, but was hoping for a replay.

Or the enemies are level 60 to level 50's and the players get rekt'd and the Mirror Universe wins and STO is renamed Terran Empire Online.

I just hope that they fixed it up instead of just leaving it as is. Last time it was a total mess filled with leechers and ended up being no fun.

Yeah it mentions rewards based on participation level.

That's why I stayed clear of the previous 'elite' version. I'll probably run it on normal this time around too.

    Your pain runs deep.
Let us explore it... together. Each man hides a secret pain. It must be exposed and reckoned with. It must be dragged from the darkness and forced into the light. Share your pain. Share your pain with me... and gain strength from the sharing.

True. I'm still a bit concerned since it mentions that the marks are based on participation level. Last time people were doing just enough not to get tagged as afk, and then just leeching for the project item. Hopefully there's something in place for the project item as well, otherwise I fear we're going to see the same thing all over again.

Doubtful. What they probably mean (what happened last time) was the number of objectives completed (rifts closed & base progression).

Once or twice? Don't bother then because it'll be the 14 day grind for the event to be worthwhile, unless you plan on saving those transporter thingies for the next go around.

Did this last time on 14 toons, almost killed me..

This time just the one toon, maybe two at a push.
The timegate is what killed it for me.

Grind for what? A shotgun? Naaaa, I'll pass. I probably try it to see if it's any fun. <<shrugs>>

Fun, that's subjective. It *is* however a change of pace, which I find refreshing. At least for the once or twice you've mentioned. After the fifth time, with the leechers and utter lack of teamwork in PUGs, it becomes maddening. I admire your sensibility and wish I would do something similar, but that 50k dilithium and 500 fleet mark bonus...

Heh, yeah...the carrots aren't too shabby mark/dil wise; if I do decide I like it enough, may even run one character through it. :P

And since the combat log still to this day doesn't accurately log in some stuff like power drain, to hell with science. Well, time to join the stupid DPS boat they're pushing all of us to join, that or use the Valdore console to get more participation (i.e. heals) for simply shooting at stuff.
