EMH MK I Duty Officer

He is in fact a hologram right? So uh... why does he burn to death instantly on Nukara Prime lmfao

    Because his mobile emitter is being damage by toxic atmosphere.

    Better question is why EMH Doctor is actually a nurse? :D

    Holo emitter isn't shielded aint gonna wash, by that logic cover shields, guns, turrets etc wouldn't work either.

    It also doesn't explain why he literally catches fire and dies in agony, surely the emitter would just break lol

    No you didn't OP you had called out the EMH on that planet. But the EMH should have been wearing a EV Suit like when you calling up Tac (Officer) Security I, II, III. Or Shard Clones of yourself are wearing EV Suits. Whoever was working EMH project must have didn't take that into account to put the EMH in EV Suit when you call him on hazard toxic environment. Another bug to get fix!

    Because Nukara Prime is well outside his operational environmental specifications... (as good a answer as any, regardless, this is all Science Fiction anyway...)

    dont think a ev suit is needed, but shielding around his emitter would help :)

    Its stuff like this that always cracks me up.

    It's like when I send my exocomp doff on a mission to take part in a Anbo-Jyutsu competition, how the hell does that work, he's a robot with no limbs?!?!?:confused:

    because his mobile emitter isn't capable of surviving in Y-class atmospheres?

    the Doctor's 29th century model might, but the 25th century models the other MKI's get don't

    1) the EMH was designed as a supplement to assist medical staff, not a Doctor in its own right

    2) as a mechanical feature because his buff is a variant of the Nurse power, so that the 1 nurse on active duty restriction works.
