After Delta Rising's launch it looks to me like the Borg spheres have had a little update to thier model. The New one seems to have a better more detailed texture (not alot better but a little). Could this be one of the ships in the Borg Lockbox?

Well I only noted that they made the "Cooperative" spheres & cubes have a different texture and a different green/azure glow .
To me it looks less Borg like and it left me wondering if the hardships that the Cooperative face have to do with interior & exterior decorating ... .

starcraft was imfamous for telling apart marines with different colored shoulder joint armor spots, paint em red, they fight for the dominion, paint em blue, they fight for raynor.. so on, however a marine is just a convict serving a live sentence to the community carrying his prison with him, the suit and none of it makes any difference to to the marine.
perhaps the cooperative learned of this means to tell apart the borg groups by adjusting the porch light?
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Could this be one of the ships in the Borg Lockbox?
Borg Lock box? What are you talking about?
The Delta lock box has only just been released, it'll be months before there's another...
It's also exceedingly unlikely a playable Borg ship will ever be made available, many of the existing ships press limits on what can be considered reasonable, but Borg shatters that entirely...
This belief may just be my own wishful thinking I'll concede, as I cringe when ever I hear the notion of players flying around in their very own Borg Sphere...
It's something that, IMO, really should be left in the realms of bad fan-fiction...

Yeah, the same kind of bad fan fiction that lets you fly 8472 bioships
As for lockboxes, ther WILL eventually be a borg box followed by an iconian one and then a the Q box.
With some luck CBS will pull the licence if they introduce borg playable ships.
A while ago there were some rumours that they do not want to see that. Something about future profitability in the ST franchise (movies and other games).
It depends on which Sphere's you're talking about. There are seemingly two types of Spheres in the game now, those owned by the Collective, and those owned by the Cooperative. Having said that, I have noticed a better texture on all Borg Ships, though I doubt it's because of a Lock Box. It's more likely that Cryptic just took the time to made the current Borg look a big better as we've gone Delta, and there's a good chance they're going to show up again (likely in force) in an upcoming update.
With regard to Sphere's though, I have noticed they're more difficult to take out compared to Cubes. I know everything has been buffed since the DR update anyway, but I can seemingly take down a cube easier than I can a sphere.

I don't think this is new, it always felt a bit like that.
Maybe it's just a psychological thing - you don't buff yourself as much for a Sphere as a Cube, especally since the Sphere is more likely not alone. The cube is probably offensively stronger, with his HYT Plasma Torps, Shield Neutralizer and Tractor Beam. But all that doesn't matter if it blows up in 10 seconds or less.
In the Borg Red Alerts, with an Escort, I usually go after the Cube pairs. With a Science Vessel, I go after the Sphere/Probe groups. I think both tend to be over similarly quickly.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

Sorry to say it, but those limits were already shattered with the Undine ships. Honestly, I find it way more plausible for the species of the Federation, Klingon Empire and the Romulan Republic to be able to use a Borg ship than an Undine one, even though both turn the game into a joke.
And Undine ships have already happened, so yeah...

Wishfull thinking mate, I'm sorry - but that's what it is. There will be a Borg ship in a lockbox. Well, unless D'Angelo manages to nuke the game so fast they don't manage to release one before that. I'm prepared to bet anything that they'll release a Borg ship in a lockbox.
I'd even argue that the entire reason for them introducing the "Borg Cooperative" and have them all cuddly and friendly with our factions boils down to plans for making a more plausible path to sell the players that revamped 'cooperative' sphere in a future lockbox.
With some luck CBS will pull the licence if they introduce borg playable ships.
lol no. CBS doesn't give a damn about that if the dough doesn't stop rolling.
Look, I get what you guys are saying and I share your opinion. Nothing would make me cringe as much as this happening. Just saying open your eyes and see who we're dealing with. Deep down inside I'm sure you know this will unfortunately happen, like it or not.

You people who wish doom upon this game make no sense.

Well that aught to teach you ... NOBODY messes with the Space Balls ... !

Also how are they controlling the cubes?

It is a peculiar phenomenon that we can imagine events that defy the laws of the universe.
True, a factor I had not considered... Playable Borg vessels are still a pet hate of mine even after playable Undine vessels...

No license, no game.
The scenario is also very unlikely. Cryptic wil have to okay suhc decisions with CBS anyway.
Otherwise, they would have long sold a Tier 5 Connie for 10,000 Zen.
