I wouldn't think it would be reasonable or fair to exclude anyone. Now, if someone agreeing to vpvp rules violated that in a match they may find no one wants to play with them.
If everyone is allowed there is no purpose to create private channel. And no, trolls are not vocal at all. Oh well, sometimes they say "GG^_^" after stomp.

these days im actually finding ground pve more fun then space pve. especially after the HP scaling nonsense we have now, but its not just because of that.
gonna stick with space pvp though, its got everything the pve is missing
I know that there are far less ground PvP folks, and as long as you keep ripping each other apart you won't get anywhere.
If you all sat down and hammered out a set of rules, I am willing to host it on VPvP.
Thats pretty much the issue you have fs and 1st knasty (germans) who will argue such and such is okay then there is the rest of us most of which actually know how to play clean. Including some people in this thread abusing bugs more recently just before DR launch. Besides who would actually be on this "council" of rulemakers?
But I am all for vgpvp I can play anyway that's needed :0 In all likely hood I won't be allowed in vgpvp for one simple reason. It won't be fair to the other players. I would be too op in such a setting. Just check out that screenshot of tier 2 gpvp I had just before DR launch and there was a good ground pvper on the other team that match.

We dont need council of rulemakers cause we have you and im sure you in your ultimate wisdom and with unparalleled skill are only one viable setting rules and deciding who is allowed. After all you are best both ground and space pvper this game ever seen, ultimate godlike pvp icon. All hail to mighty Biggs:D
Hmm trolls, you must mean people that logout before deaths.
No I think she means 5 man premades that team up for random pugs cause they can't hack it in ground pvp anymore We know you won't be participating in vpvp cause you sure as hell couldn't handle that kind of game LOL
In any case I finished out season 9 putting a foot in some hammer/fs premade a$$ and man it was enjoyable. Look forward to doing it again when I actually pull a team. But we all know what happens when fs starts losing you all pull out your neural overloads and cheese TRIBBLE to win. The whole community knows all about your TRIBBLE fleet

I think Tira has a handle on what should be banned. Ground for sure I have some tough match screenshots to prove it all while you grief on farmer toons nowadays. Sad cause you were getting good.
And alsa Voporak's point is once again proven and why DR will be no different for this so called "ground community"
But I am all for vgpvp I can play anyway that's needed :0 In all likely hood I won't be allowed in vgpvp for one simple reason. It won't be fair to the other players.
Thats actually true Talon, unless they add a rule that explicitly allows everyone to have such a bind too.
PvP is teamplay business, people play the game to play together with their friends.. playing with friends is not trolling, nice try tho.
LOL I love you your TRIBBLE a$$ tries to justify pug stomping when you know there are no other premades around to fight. Cut the **** Tami nobody has bought your lines of bs for awhile now LOL Pathetic
Thus, how many Space PvPers would actually be interested in at least learning about the mechanics behind Ground PvP? If I were to set up ground combat training sessions for character optimization would anyone wish to attend?
Sounds like a great idea! I'm sure there are many worse on ground than I, but I'd be pretty interested in how teams function on ground with roles etc.
One of the things that always stopped me from doing ground pvp, other than lols with friends, was issues like splitting a skill tree, p2w traits and general investment. If you could shine a light on some of that stuff I'd be very interested.
If you're organizing anything in-game my handle is @markg1701
On another note, I've always said to fleeties and friends that there should be a pvp tournament that combines ground and space, with the same players and characters in both the ground and space rounds. I wonder if any fleet could put together the ultimate sto pvp team.

I think dkfrontiers tried to do that but none of the space only players wanted to do ground. Perhaps it's time to revisit that with vanilla rules. I would very much enjoy that I think.

I haven't done any VPvP. Not that I have anything against it. I think for the purposes of a ground/space tourney that would be the way to go. It might make sense considering how difficult it would be to make rules for a conventional tournament with all the DR stuff.
Of course a lot of those space pvp fleets would need to be on board I would think.

Well for this to happen someone should really take initiative, ask on ingame channels like those 2 ground pvp cnannels,to see who is actually interested or this just gonna stay on words.

Well for starters I've joined the vpvp channel. As indicated above, space players would need to be on board. My own playtime is limited due to work/family obligation but I'll be seeing what I can do to move forward. If we can't get a space/ground tourney going, it'd be a nice start to iron out some "vanilla" rules for ground. Still, it will only work if folks can let go of their epeens for a while to come to an agreement.

Gona join vpvp too, also gonna ask few questions around to see the mood of ppl and who is actually interested. And about agreement, well that gonna be hard part,we both know how much hate and arrogance is in gpvp community, not that in space is much better but still.Well nothing to lose to atlest try something.

From you and a few others there seems to be a moderate amount of interest. Thanks for letting me know about your interest in team functionality. I'll be sure to include that in the guide as I continue my work upon it.

The skill tree is not much different from Space; you just have less boxes to fill. Just remember more than 6 points in a non-Lieutenant skill is usually a waste, Threat Control is never worth the points, Willpower needs at 6 points (42% control resistances), and Combat Armor needs at least 3 (ideally 6) points.
Pay to Win isn't bad for ground from a broad perspective. There are only a few lockbox traits actually worth slotting. The only cheese lockbox trait is Subspace Manipulator for Science officers...chained it is not fun to fight at all. You also got stasis pistol from the lobi store, but at least that can now be cleared via a teamate now.
Really the biggest thing to know is that the Omega reputation gear is the basis for all Ground PvP because of two piece set bonuses. Everything else requires three pieces before a set ability is provided and those set abilities have an absurd 3 minute cooldown compared to the reasonable 45 second cooldown on Omega reputation set abilities.
For the last year I've been working on putting together a Ground PvP guide in my spare time. It has been no small project given that Season 9 completely rewrote the book on ground combat with the new kit frame system and the reputation trait revamp. I'm just trying to decide whether I should work toward completing said ground guide; or if I should just give up on it.
Thus, how many Space PvPers would actually be interested in at least learning about the mechanics behind Ground PvP? If I were to set up ground combat training sessions for character optimization would anyone wish to attend?
I realize the biggest difficulty for Ground PvP is the need for a new character specifically for ground combat. This is a challenge, but I know a lot of space PvPers make alternate characters. Fortunately the grind is much lighter for ground characters.
Tier V Omega and (ideally) Tier V Dyson is highly recommended, but ultimately you don't have to do a whole lot of reputation missions unless there is a specific piece of gear you need. Task Force Omega Reputation is the backbone of all Ground PvP builds because of the MACO, KHG, and Omega two piece defensive abilities. Additionally, just running 1 rep project for each rep will unlock all the Tier I rep traits. 6 more rep project runs and you have all the Tier 3 rep traits.
So, is there any interest? Should I continue work on these guides and post them up here on the forums?
And yes, I would be interested, although it would have to be on weekends.
