I was just wondering if anyone else was disappointed that the Pilot Specialisation powers Attack Pattern Expertise I & II don't work with Attack Pattern Alpha! They only work with bridge officer Attack Pattern abilities (Attack Patterns Beta, Delta & Omega).
If any of the Cryptic Devs read this post/thread could you please give me/us some insight into how this decision was arrived at?

...was my first thought when folks first started making this particular complaint about APA not being affected by it.
Just like Zemok DOFF. Thank goodness it does not affect APA.

This is the precise reason it is not triggered by AP:Alpha.

Now shaddup about the queues, it's a BUG
This makes perfect sense but should also be in the power description the way the "weapon buffing skills" boost from the Intel (I think) tree lists the powers that trigger it. The way it's phrased currently is misleading.
It currently says:
"Attack Pattern Bridge Officer Ability"
and AP:A is a Captain Ability.
... but we'll see about adding an additional qualifier into the description.

I am sooooo sorry that you guys have to make things so blatantly obvious for the masses out there. I wonder if you guys laugh about this at times.
As a software developer, who needs to deal with people much less computer savvy than the average gamer, I can honestly say that while we do laugh about that, it's usually not to cry because any time a problem like this arises, it means more work, and not of the fun kind.
Even if APA does not trigger it Im not disappointed at all.
Think more chars will get that one!

Well considering this specialization is supposed to add temp hit-points on use of a BOFF attack pattern and does not?
In general yes. There are limits to that patience however, and to the extent one should hand-hold your customer base. Oversimplifying, overprotecting and overconveniencing your customer can easily end up making your product too cumbersome to be practical if you aren't careful in how you go about it.
