For some reason I'm now taking damage that has to be repaired in regular missions

littlesarbonnlittlesarbonn Member Posts: 486 Arc User
I was doing the Delta Quadrant missions, got killed by a borg cube in a regular mission and then found I had to pay to repair my ship which was seriously damaged now. Is this intended?

This was a regular quest story mission.

Did you have your level set to elite? Higher levels bring out the injuries.

I don't even know how to set my level to elite. So is it something I might have done by accident?

I looked at difficulty in options and it's definitely set to normal.

All queued content does injuries now, doesn't it?

I know that some of the missions in the Dyson Sphere cause damage even if you don't die.

ALL deaths have a chance of injuries/damages. The chances in normal is however exceptionally low...almost zero...but it is actually NOT zero. So you die enough or are very unlucky and you can get them.

lol, no, i have 12 characters, i NEVER got an injury playing on normal, neither on ground or space, this is a bug, plenty of normal maps/missions for some reason have advanced level of HP, i tried doing the eta eridani dil dailies yesterday, and i noticed how every ship now has advanced HP despite being on normal, also they give roughly the same experience advanced enemies do, basically, you're not actually playing on normal, but on advanced, despite being set to normal.

I seem to remember rarely getting an injury every now and then in normal content.. not sure if the chance is just extremely low or if it's just a glitch in the matrix somewhere.

you need to be aware of probability or odd as they are commonly known, like with the lottery how you can buy a ticket every week for your whole life and never have a big win and some lucky so and so who never usually plays buys a ticket at random one day and wins the jackpot.

if they have the probability of getting an injury or damage at say 1% that probability does not get greater the more times you play or the more characters you have, you could go your entire time on sto till the game ends and never get an injury or damage where someone else could have this crop up several times, its just the way probability works.

its easiest if you imagine a dice with 100 sides you could throw the dice a million times and never get a no.1 where someone else could throw it the same amount and get the no.1 several times.

whether its a bug or intended its obviously been in the game a while as I have had it a good few times at random intervals.
but I have a good stock of repair and heal commodities so its not a big deal.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

There is no chance of injuries/damage in normal difficulty. It might be a bug as there was something similar going on when LoR came out, but it got sorted out.

That's a bug that just seems to happen sometimes. I recall it happening more often in Foundry missions, but I dunno what causes it so it probably leaks into normal missions.

It's a very rare bug, or it used to be, so if it happens again, you should submit a bug report. If it only happens occasionally, I wouldn't worry, but if it is happening more often then there is a problem.

I've seen that every once in a while since I started playing in season 4. Most recent one being few weeks ago in Borg Red Alert. And there really should be a chance for injuries so that people learn how to deal with them before they try the advanced queues.
