Balance out Rewards for all Queues

sentinel64sentinel64 Member Posts: 901 Arc User
From Borticus Post: We will not be making any adjustments to queue rewards just yet. Until these hitpoint modifiers are in place, and we have updated metrics and feedback to review, we're going to just change one aspect at a time.

If the whole Standard-Advanced-Elite Queue is going to make any sense then all levels need rewards that make playing them worthwhile. One obvious flaw in Standard is that it does not provide access to the Rep Gear which is trapped behind the "glass wall" known as Rep modules that are only available at Advanced Queues (and higher).

New players and Casual players that either don't have experience in the old Elite or do not have time to find and play with set teams are then forced to jump into PuGs to get these modules needed for Rep gear purchases.

Add the same reward to all levels (just higher quantities/qualities based on level) then new players will go to standard to learn, then move to Advanced when they are mentally and materially ready (i.e., got some of the gear needed). Also those that don't care for Advanced can still get gear without having to gamble on PuGs.

All this is saying is they wanted the lower dil rewards to make it slower grinding out for gear upgrades thus making impatient players purchase zen to convert to dil. They don't want to make changes until they feel they have milked it for all they can.

I will not let the childish acts of a criminal ruin this game for me.
-The actions of Cryptic, on the other hand......

I don't think they are milking anything, but they do have a lot egg in their face. This release was a classic loony toons scene where the TNT explodes in daffy duck's(Cryptic's)face.

The queues are nearly dead. They killed casual pugging, non dps builds, and desire. That is a hand grenade where the sun don't shine.

They could easily make it so that any Rep Modules from Standard dish out Mk XI and Advanced Mk XII. This would mean if players wanted Mk XIII or Mk XIV without the upgrade system theyd have to go into the new Elite. Since the Elite Queues represent Endgame MMO Dungeons and its the best of the best. The Mk XIV gear could be Ultra Rare quality this way.

At least this way there would be something worth while walking out of Standard Queues with. And it would make it easier to identify skill and level for the different Queues. Giving players an opportunity to work their way up to the higher difficulty content. Instead of jumping into Queues with White or often obsolete gear and underperforming to the point that they actually risk losing the match for the team. It would also give players a reason to advance from Normal Difficulty to Elite. Since the Elite Queues would offer gear worthy of the effort of playing them.

For anyone that want nothing to do with the Queues. The Upgrade system would be perfect for this. With the player advancing through crafting or the random drop to upgrade their gear to better Mk Gear and on occasion the chance to move their gear up to a better rarity.

they'll only roll back rewards if they absolutely have to(as in, if the playerbase continues to be angry), its pretty obvious cryptic didn't like how folks could get a nice amount of dil in ISE/CSE/KASE, DR gave them the opportunity to kill it for good, i doubt they'll return rewards to its previous number even if people complain.

do remember that cryptic has been nerfing dil rewards since f2p started, it used to be that you could do gorn minefield, big dig daily, and the pvp rewards literally all the time, they removed that, they removed the 1440 reward you could get from old elites, they removed the extra implants you could exchange for 1000 dil each 5, that you could get randomly, this is just another attempt at nerfing dil, and if people let, its just going to get worse, i wonder how long it will take before they nerf pi canis lol.

They definitely did not like players running sub-5-minute STFs for 960 dil each, and we'll never see the return of that time/reward ratio. But I suspect they will, as they say, adjust the STF rewards upward once they have data on just how quickly level 60 players are running them.

However they seriously need to up the rewards for queues such as ANR, Undine Assault, and the like which were terribly unrewarding even before DR made them time-consuming slogs.

I don't know what data they plan to gather if nobody is playing queues because the rewards suck. Actually, I guess that's data in of itself.
