Quite often over the last week or so of play when I've been in ESD I've noticed balloons and other odd things on the ground. Some of which you can walk through/over and they act as a "pick up".
Do they do anything, or are they just random nonsense like the "disco dancing" that quite often happens randomly?
They come from anniversary party popper devices that players use. Disco balls are items that players use too, they don't happen randomly. They don't do anything other than that.
As someone who uses disco balls a fair amount, (see sig) I generally go for where has the largest consecration of players.
So ship selectors at esd and k7, bank at k7, and interestingly enough recruitment officer at klink academy. I seldom set them off in drozanna.
It's not myfault ifyoufeel trolledbymyDisco ball...Sorry'boutit.
I just ignore them, because I am usually doing stuff before my next run.
Leader of Elite Guardian Academy.Would you like to learn how to run a fleet? Would you like to know how to do ship builds (true budget as well as high end)? The join the Academy today!
Anti-troll ball device? There's something that will destroy the stupid disco balls? Where does it come from, and does it hopefully cost a fraction as much as the disco balls?

From my experience people most pop those disco balls or shoot out balloons in ESD and Drozana Station. I generally do not see that happen on Qo'nos.
Time will only tell!

That's because Klingons, are usually in a foul mood most of the time.
Praetor of the -RTS- Romulan Tal Shiar fleet!
C'mon, its not a "mood" thing, its just... well... Klingon. BCW
I have to say on that particular note, since they were added to the game I've only observed about maybe ten people actually using them.
Based on the screaming on here I would have thought they were gonna be much more popular.
