Seeming as this thread, that IS still current was closed, I'm re-posting it on behalf of Kell@EtherCircuit so that we can still arrange this match via the forums. Cheers

"Hello,

The House of Beautiful Orions would like to challenge the 5 best VPvP players to a match using VPvP rules. We are interested in seeing what your new league is all about. If anyone can organize the 5 best VPvP players please send an in-game mail or /tell to @ethercircuit.

We would preferably like to conduct a match this afternoon (Sunday).

Thanks in advance,

-- Kell"

Dammit, we'll tell you when we're good and ready.

Youngsters these days, gettin' all fired up about nothin'. What happened to some good old-fangled patience fer once?

That kind of repost was unnecessary and redundant. Why are you guys so obsessed with the VPvP channel? You and your fleet are just beginning to make a fool of yourselves. If there are people who chose such an option to play pvp, it should be fine as long as this channel doesnt intend forcing the whole community to play a certain way of pvp, like eryon fed did for instance. Then such an action might be reasonable but the founder of VPvP created it as a voluntary alternative no more, no less

You need to be aware of the fact that you're going to loose friends and allies soon if you keep on representing a pvp-fleet like this and behaving in that manner on forums.

    I'm just gonna say this:

VPvP is not a fleet or a coalition of any sorts. You cannot just challenge VPvP. If you want a match with the channel rules, you're gonna have to find individual players or join the channel.

I'm okay with it but I'm not doing anything to help organize this because I don't control VPvP members like a fleet leader would.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

Hannibal, take a deep breath and calm down please. Now read your reply in relation to the OP. Seems like a bit of an over-reaction to me.

I'm not actually involved in this because I only have a limited time to play this game and I don't want to spend it re-equipping and rebuilding a VPvP ship, but other HoBOs are willing to do that and would like to have a match against some of the better VPvP players considering going in with a HoBOs premade against random VPvP'ers may not present the most balanced battlefield. That is all.

You claim they can't challenge vpvp, and then you say you're good with challenging vpvp.

They can challenge individual members, but treating as a whole won't get them anywhere.

    That's not what he's saying.

VPvP isn't a fleet or coalition, we don't want to fight people who aren't in vpvp. Wanna fight by vpvp rules? Join the channel and set up matches. Still, matches are balanced in a very TD style so it doesn't fall into a pug stomp. Also, good manners: wanna play vpvp? If you lose, don't start raging insulting vpvp etc. If you win don't start bragging.

So, you can't challenge vpvp, you can do vpvp fights with people in that channel.

Seeing as how this thread was for requesting a match last Sunday and since it now seems to be used as an excuse to blow off forum rules and snipe at each other, we're done here.

    No Forum PvP.

    @tinnytimps

    Why this thread was re-opened?
I think you can understand english and what the mod. Wrote.

But if you mean that it is helpful this thread keep alive and so to provoke some Forum-PvP here .. because more than that will probably not happen.

As for the challange .. maybe you try first to make the ships ready, I have my doubts that you ever be ready for this match.

    @Hobo

Why is your tournament canceled ? Why do you have such a bad reputation ? Why are so many people angry at you ? These are just some questions for you where your only know the answer.

For me personally it is now no matter .. you are old enough to know ..

    What goes around comes around.

In this sense .. nice weekend all.

roger, so the guy who indirectly forced the pandas back into the game with his legendary offence post against selena gomez wants to lecture me about "over-reaction". Gotcha:D

    Hello all,

When Neepa re-posted this he was unaware that people in VPvP had already contacted me in-game the same day of the original post and we had already set up the match.

My original post was sincere and the people involved know this. The post asked for a match and we set up a match. There's no reason for other people to chime in with trolling/flaming/hateful things about matches that have nothing to do with them.

We look forward to the match and trying out a new rule set.

Well, if that was the intention, why could the thread title not be something like "Any chance of a vanilla match versus..."?

That would have got a positive response instead what your current title is.

"Show us your best" instantly puts the wrong message across and puts a lot of peoples backs up. For me personally it says "My fleet's gonna smash you anyway and we're gonna do it on your own turf.

I take it English is your first language?

Dude, it's a KDF fleet you're talking to there-"Show us your best" is as close to "I'd like a match, please" as you're likely to GET.

If they where in fact actual klingons I would agree. However I am pretty sure they are the same nerdy trek game playing folk the rest of us are. In which case, the way a human being words something indicates intent.

If the OP wasn't intended to be condescending then the OP needs a few lessons in English grammar. (not sure if English is his first language, if not hey a few missed meanings are normal)

The OP very much seemed like it was intended to be translated as such, "Remove the stuff you all QQ about and where still better then you; Toys/P2W doesn't matter where better then you." Even if that was in fact the case... and yes if we are talking about 5 random guys from a channel vs a preamde like would be. Its rude. Yes it is a video game and if your life in general sucks its a great place to take out your frustrations I guess... still when it comes to PvP. Most of us prefer to go in and act in a manner conducive to fostering good sportsmanship in the game. A bit of friendly witty trash talk in a place like kerrat is one thing... just like in any sport a bit of trash talking on the field can with in reason be healthy and fun and not instantly poor sportsmanship. At some point the right thing to do is act the part of a good sport. Being a good winner is just as important as being a good looser. I tell my children to push hard and do there best to win... I also tell them that in the end its how they play the game. Do your best act like a gentleman/lady and you win 100% of the time.

(Now I will stop sounding preachy... many of us cross the line here and there. Where not kids though we don't have to use the behaviour of others to excuse our own either.)

It's awesome to see you look down upon trolling/flaming/hateful activities in this sincere, sincere post. Quite the turn-around in your character. Almost uncharacteristic.

Nah, hobos aren't the only organized KDF PvP, not even if you measure it with some 'public recognition'. Our fleet is able to field a constant KDF premade and Omega-Flotte also had one (not sure, whether they're playing atm, i guess no tbh). I also know a few pandas, that are mainly kdf players. You know, for me there's no justified arrogance. ;)

They're gonna do it 'in character' for them. It's social, y'know?

I'm a method PvPer. I'm not breaking character until the servers come down.

Frankly though, winning or losing doesn't matter, it's how good you look doing either one. Space sexiness is important.

Instead of closing threads... mods should just moderate the offensive comments.

    @askray, bluegeek,
This thread is not done yet, they might be posting vids of the match later on. Ah who cares, they could just create a new thread.

Then they can post the vids of the match in another thread when they become available.

The original thread was closed for a reason and unfortunately this thread seems to be following in the same path.

Askray is dealing with RL issues and is not going to be on here much if at all. Smirk's available time to moderate is low.

So let me tell you how this is going to go. I'm going to do whatever is required to keep the peace. When people start thinking that I'm only one mod and can't do damage control, I'll start recommending infractions instead of closing threads and giving out warnings.

I really hope that's clear enough.

Now, if you guys want this thread to keep going, clean it up. If somebody's being an TRIBBLE, send me a PM so I can deal with it.
