Hello
With the sale that is going on now, i am thinking about buying the scimitar bundle.
I originally thought about buying the Faeht warbird.
But with the whole bundle priced 1000 zen less i got interested.
Now comes the question.
Will the scimitar be a good T5-U ship or should i wait for the Faeht.
Any helpful advice would be good.
Thank you in advance.

If you had asked that question 3 months ago I would have said yes. Now, I am not so sure. Although you will be able to upgrade it I think the new ships will be better.

Battle Cloaking, can have shields up all the times, 5 fore weapons, 3 back, 5 tactical consoles, ltcmdr and ensign universals, a set that makes the turn rate not so bad at all. Just great loaded with dual heavies. If you want to slap some beams, you can get a rear admiral ship and be fine with it. There's nothing more stupid than a beam Scimitar, wasted potential.

Beam scimitards have higher DPS but less real effective damage, at least in ISE and such. However, DPS is king in the new HSE, so if you ever plan on doing that nightmare you're going to absolutely need a T5u Scimitard with AT LEAST 30k DPS (i.e. ALL purple and blue doffs, gold MK 14 gear, assimilated, KCB, ZPM, literally anything that boosts DPS despite your eng console slots being filled with elite MK 14 gold fleet neutroniums) to finish it. Your ENTIRE team needs that.

Otherwise, any ship that does...what, 20K DPS? Should work for most new elite STF content. If you have decent drain/debuff or CC, 10K DPS might be OK.

For most elite content I recommend a DHCmitard with antiproton weaponry. Craft some cheap MK 2 purples until you get mods you like, then upgrade them to MK 14. With a touch of luck you should hit gold quality at or shortly after MK 14, but don't spend a buttload of dil getting everything to gold. Get the KCB, maybe the antiproton omnibeam (not sure how great its DPS is, never tried it out), 5 spire consoles (get the MK 10's, upgrade them to 14, better rarity upgrade chance that way and probably cheaper), and three don't-blow-me-up consoles. Scimitar console set may or may not be worth it, you kind of need the Assimilated console.

Scimitar bundle and Vesta bundles are the only bundles I would consider. Bought the Kumari bundle, huge regret.
Scimitar Bundle is the one ship purchase I would recommend for any DPS obsessed player...

The Thaloron weapon is a waste of time, but for some situations the shield while cloaked ablitity and 2 piece turn rate are invaluable.

It's the other way round with me although I'm not a DPS freak. To me Vesta and Scimitar are extremely boring. I like the Kumari pack very much. And soon the Charal class gets a 5th tactical console making it (in my eyes) a better all round escort than the Kumari.

I did get the bundle but I would not now. I'd probably get 1 Scimitar and the Valdore.

As a bundle, I liked The Scimitar pack. The three consoles synergise brilliantly and make for a fun and unique experience. The Scimmi is worth getting for the fact it's versatile; you don't have to run it any one way to be effective, and it has some fun toys; the shielded-at-all-times Battle-Cloak, Hangers, even the thalaron pulse is a lot of fun. Not necessarily hugely competitive in PvP, but MUST that be the be all and end all of a thing's 'good-ness' in this game?

Of course, now it's so close to the launch of DR, you may as well hold off and see how the new stuff shapes up before making a decision, but I'd dare say it's common consensus that the prospect of buying a Scimi is of course not the only option, but it is always going to be considered up there with the best of them for the foreseeable future.
