Patch of 3GB

So why is my launcher downloading a patch of 3GBs? There are no release notes about a patch for today.

    DR Pre-patch. This usually happens before a new Season or Extension.

    ah thx for the info.. never noticed it before. But then again i havent been playing regulary for a long time.

    It's a thing Cryptic does, presumably so they don't have to euthanise the server hamsters on Release Day.

    Cryptic started pre-patching before legacy of Romulus because the patchservers had trouble when all players patched at the same time during updates and expansions.

    Now players can start some days before to patch and the patchservers can divide the resources better.
