Are they going to remain in my inventory up until the point that I decide to use them? Or do I only have until the end of this event?

I mean, I'm fine with using them up now if I have to, but I'd rather wait until after all the kinks are patched out of the expansion before upgrading anything at all.

    This!!!

Too many bugs destroying rare and paid-for items. No promise that anything will be "fixed" after the DR release. If you TRIBBLE up your unique item and its' suddenly common white, you're SOL.

I don't want to TRIBBLE up my rare/unique items. This patch has been so bug-ridden it should be an embarrasment to Cryptic. This is what the tribble server is for: finding and fixing bugs. It's not a lack of players or lack of reporting! There are TONS of these reports from Tribble!

What does Cryptic do? Ignore them. Ignore them completely and dump the code to holodeck, every time. So they make a server to find and report bugs, totally ignore the reports, then move the bug testing straight to holodeck? Makes no sense!!

That said, I don't want to get into these upgrades because of 1) the idiotic price and 2) the massive bug list that's more likely to ruin my item than upgrade it.

Fix #2 and I might dabble a bit. Fix #1 as well and I'll actually use it.

Exactly. I'd planned to use the free upgrade tokens for some of the Lobi Store stuff I've amassed, but my R&D skills are all below Lvl 10, and I want to make sure I can get the most of them.

R&D skill is only tied to creating your own upgrades, not how much you get out of using them.

My ground superior ones are still in the inventory, so are the accelerators, if that is what you have asked, they will stay after October 14 as well, there is no reason why would they remove it

so they don't alter the chance of additional properties?

You can drag & drop the upgrade kits into your R&D tab....... ;)

R & D has nothing to with upgrading, it just so happens that you can craft upgrade kits....:)

Either way, the chances of ruining items or wasting kits is still too high.

No, but they do alter the chance of getting more upgrade kits per project.

A normal success gives one kit, but crits give two.

Higher skill, more kits per run.

The kits themselves have the same effect regardless, you just get more of them.

They marked them upgrade so they aren't exploitable like the first ones.

    How were they exploited ?

...And why didn't these newly marked upgrades come with their own R&D slots in our inventory since they don't stack with the unmarked versions ?

The original ones were normal kits with a "bound to character" property.

That property was lost if you split the stack, and lost if merged with an unbound stack.

They all got into the R&D inventory anyway, and I personally don't think I'm anywhere close to full capacity on that inventory.

    OUCH- lost.

...but I'm still bouncing materials from my main inventory thru the bank to get them into R&D inventory but wondered why these new upgrades weren't stacking with the drops I've been getting. Best to not stack anything ATM and buy more R&D space (bad cryptic !) else risk losing stuff.

just use up the event ones first, then you won't need to worry about it anymore.

    Sorry, I think you misunderstood.

The "Bound to Character" property was lost, not the kit.

So instead of "Upgrade Kit (Bound to Character)" it became "Upgrade Kit" - and it could be listed on the Exchange, sent to other Characters, etc.

Just double click on it in your main inventory... it will go to the R&D tab without an interim bank needed, nor a drag and drop.

This also works in reverse. On my main crafting toon, the R&D tab was full and I had to move some to my main inventory.
