o.k. so I rescently finished reading a book called "Star trek S.C.E b
reak downs" ( book 7 in the S.C.E series ) in it they refer to a federation species called "Nasat" (specificly a character named "P8 blue" and apparently they was an original series episode featuring them entitled "the Jihad" I was just thinking how interesting it would be!, to have the ability to play as a Nasat like we can human or vulcan or Betazoid! and playing as a Nasat "shell" (as the refer to themselves) would be different from the other species but in a cool way. am wondering if any-one else would be interested in the idea. if you type "Nasat" into the search bar up top of you search bar theres an article in the "memory Beta wikia star trek page" about them.
Patty (P8) is a crewman on the Da Vinci, and a great Engineer. She's also in all of the other books as well.
The problem with putting her and the Nassat into STO, (aside from its not Canon) would be the way the Nassat would interact with everything. The Current STO build is for humanoids, and reworking those mechanics for the Nassat (a pill bug style species) would require a brand new build for the character, not just art assets but everything from weapons and gear would have to be rewritten for just one species.
As for me I love the idea, and would buy the species if I could have one.

there would be a thousand geeks armed with Bat'leths descending on Cryptic Studios if they made a non- canon species playable before the kardashians
The Kardashians?
Who would want to play a Kardashian?
I know that I wouldn't.
A Cardassian either, for that matter.
But a whole new non-canon race requiring them to work out new character models?
I certainly wouldn't bet on it.
