The Aquarius, Vesta, D'kyr, ARVR each were buffed in the latest patch. Is there any consideration that other vessels belonging to the KDF or Romulans may properly need similar updates for whatever rationale was used in making the changes to the Federation vessels?
Simple it's the numbers. Feds vastly outnumber the others. Numbers equal potential customers, which leads them to making decisions based on what well return the most profit.
If you want balance, faction uniqueness, actual roles, and content not designed as a cash grab - you'll have to go somewhere else.

If this changing values in a data table result in more profit on 75% of the player base, wouldn't making similar adjustments for KDF and Rom add even more profit from the remaining 25% of the playerbase? It's not like changing the values requires investment, and if you're correct on the reason for the changes, then they'd get even more.

it's about manhours to return on investment. if it takes 20 manhours to change 20 ships they can use those 20 manhours on ships that 75% buy or on ships that 25% buy. which one has the better potential return for the manhours invested?
for your theory to be correct it would mean those 20 manhours would never be used for anything else. that's not the case. it's not do kdf or do nothing. it's do kdf or do fed. you're going to use the manhours so you use them in areas that make you the most money.
3 of those ships were pretty out of date anyways, and its not like science ships have ever been powerhouses outside of a couple of PVPers. I'm surprised to see the Vesta mentioned though; what got changed?
Edit
Well the Aquarius isn't sci of course, but still its been considered a flying joke for like 2 years, so the point still stands.

More hull, something that Geko threatened to do in a while.
I say "threatened" as a Vesta User. It's already the uber Science Vessel. It should have a bit of an Achilles heel somewhere.
Ah, well, I guess I'll just keep flying it then...

Not only hull, but the shield mod. will be upped to 1.4. As another Vesta user, although I wellcome a free buff, I honestly didn't see the need for this. I never died in my Vesta anyway, it's especially hard to get blown up with the 3 "oh s**t!" consoles and the impenetrable shield set bonus. They've just made the best science ship in the game better for some reason. *shrugs*
I don't know the rationale the Cryptic team used to conclude these ships needed a buff (Aquarius excluded). It's interesting to see those that operate these ships are surprised yet pleased with the improvements.
Consideration for other ships, including KDF, Rom, Lockbox, Anniversary, etc, within whatever context Cryptic used would be something to which the playerbase may react well.
I'll admit I also don't see why they picked the Vesta to buff. There are other science ships out there that could have used the help a lot more then the Vesta. In fact almost all (but not all) of the science ships out there could have used the help more then the Vesta.

I agree; it is hard to think that the Vesta would need a buff. I assume that they are doing this to make the 3-Pack more appealing once the T6 Ships come out.

I'm confused. Isn't Holodeck the Test Server???
LMAO!
yes but they need to send the stuff to Tribble first so the bugs can breed and incubate the required waiting period before going to Holodeck for test.
Well played Warmaker001b, well played.
