With them always adding some new way for us to spend our dilithium, isn't it about time they raise the cap we can refine. That age old excuse about not wanting to flood the market with dilithium just isn't going to cut it anymore.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
If need be, you can use saved-up Zen - for example, selling 500 Zen at the most current rate (let's say 175) would instantly give 87500 Dil for the character that needs it (not Ore, Refined, which bypasses the limit)
Was named Trek17.
Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
No, there are billions too much dilithium in the game. It needs to be sucked out so dilithium can be worth something once again.
We knocked 6 points off the exchange value so far in the last 2 hours.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
Yes lets punish most people by making a really large grind because 1% of the players have "too much" dilithium.
I would assume that most people would want to get the most value out of their 8000 a day? No?
At the current rate you are really only getting about 6000 a day.

8000 DIL=8000 DIL. You should know basic math. You can't go off of the DILX since it's a DIL:Zen ratio and has gone between 500:1 down to 90:1 since I started.
And now the price is back to what it was 2 hours ago
poopie. well i can still hope this will help.
Of course the value matters. Try going to europe when the dollar is in the toilet. No fun.
If the dil is trading at 100 it is worth twice as much as if it's 200. I'll sell my 8000 at 100 please.

I support the raising of the dilithium in here is why:
1.) I seriously want the the dilithium market to go into hyper inflation mode so I can just easly purchase dilithium with a few zen. 2k zen at 500 dilithium is 1 million dilithium.
2.) This hyper inflation will reduce my grinding needs, so I can just go straight to pay to win.
3.) Flush with all these cheap dilithium, I can upgrade all my weapons, consoles to EPIC in short span of time.
OR
I can accept the fact that as a lifer, I can refine 8k a day, an additional 1k at Starfleet academy, and 500 at the fleet dilithium mine. As I spend the time to grind, the wait will make upgrading my weapons much more sweeter.
I'm sure they will raise the dil cap when whey see that the in game market will benefit from it. I'm sure they are aware that everyone would love to have more dil every day. I'm also sure that no amount of threads asking for it will convince them to raise the cap before they've determined it will be ok.

The in game market would suffer hard if the cap was raised. I would like to see zen stay at 1$ for 100, not 4$ or 5$ for 100.
I always thought that the refined cap should never be increased. But looking at what cryptic is doing, specially now with the new "throw away all the dilithium you have to upgrade your items", the refined cap MUST be increased asap. I suposse cryptic dont expect us to keep trying to "save" dilithium when they keep releasing stuff only adquired with dilithium. This was just balanced until a couple of months ago, but definitely not anymore...

It's the only reason the upgrade system requires so much dilithium. They need money or PWE will shut down STO.

It is a peculiar phenomenon that we can imagine events that defy the laws of the universe.
The publisher needs to eat, or so they say.

Then accept that you won't be able to buy everything you want in-game without a degree of waiting.

yes plus all the other futile can we raise the dil cap threads.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
