BUG:

when upgrading some ships, the unique consoles and weapons that can only be used on those vessels disappear

Description:

this bug affect at least the following vessels: Chimera, Fleet Chimera, Patrol Escort Refit. possibly affects Fleet Patrol Escort as well. when I upgraded my patrol escort refit the tempest tail gun weapon status changed to saying it was equipped on another vessel. I then accidently selected unequip from the right click options for the weapon. the weapon totally disappeared. it is not showing up in my inventory or my bank. On my Fleet Chimera, when I upgraded the ship, the dynamic tactical console (sic) [the console that allows the ships transformation into/out of tactical mode] the consoles status said it was equipped on another vessel. I switched my selected starship to another vessel and then switched the selected ship back to the Fleet Chimera, the console mentioned earlier had disappeared. they are not in my inventory or my bank.

due to restrictions placed on the tribble server during the delta rising testing period, reclaiming the vessels is not allowed. the ship requisition says that I need to be VA, 1000 days played etc. to claim my chimera. I am a lifetimer, so I am excluded from the 1000 day wait, my rank is 55 (ADM). I meet all requirements to get a chimera (besides I already have the fleet chimera) I also have two ship slots available so if it was allowed, I could reclaim the vessels to get the now missing equipment.

Category:

Items?

Steps to reproduce bug:

1. go to shipyard starship selection menu.
2. select one of these ships: chimera, fleet chimera, patrol escort refit, (possibly fleet patrol escort)
3. select the upgrade starship button.

location: fleet starbase, tactical deck, at the ship selection officer/console. I have heard from other players that bug occurs at ESD too, so it will probably occur at any ship selection location

=========================================================

commentary:
a temporary fix until the bug is fixed, add the tempest tail gun and the chimera's console to the dilithium store's reclaim tab for a short period so that those who are affected are able to get the problem fixed for the time being. this will bypass the need for lifting the ship requisition restrictions. also when the items are added to the reclaim tab, make an announcement in the forums so people now about it.

my tribble toon is a copy of my primary holodeck toon. so I am going to try making a second copy of it on tribble and see if I can transfer the now missing consoles from that copy to my main copy that I am using on tribble

well that was an epic fail. I was able to move the chimera console from the new copy of my toon to my inventory, but was unable to move it to the account bank

similarly because the tempest tailgun is fused, I was unable to even move it off of the patrol escort.
too bad I cant packup and transfer the ships themselves......

Similar thing happend to me. The Torpedo Point Defense System Console doesn't work with the T5-U upgraded Escort Carriers, also lost mine while upgrading.
Deleted and copied over my character again to get it back. Removed it from my ship, upgraded my ship and then was unable to equip it.

Also lost the Voth set consoles with upgrading the Voth T-5U ships on another character.

The Multi-Vector Assault Module console doesn't mention they work with T5-U either.
Cloaking Device Console doesn't mention T5-U ships.

...On my Fleet Chimera, when I upgraded the ship, the dynamic tactical console (sic) [the console that allows the ships transformation into/out of tactical mode] the consoles status said it was equipped on another vessel...

Why did you use (sic) here? Do you know what it means to do so? Just in case you don't, [sic] is normally used in brackets to signify you are directly quoting another person who has mispoken or otherwise used a word incorrectly in his or her speech. Please compare http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sic

To use [sic] in your own writing, in words you yourself are communicating to either a reader or listener...I think may speak to the fact that you either have a split personality or some other break or schism in your own persona or understanding of writing in first or third person.

I only mention this to try and help, for future note. Then again, you may be entirely correct in your use of the language in your post and it's really me that's made the hyperjump to Tatooine without my spaceship. Or from here to Vulcan. Logically...of course?

I'm having the same issue. Anyone have an idea when there'll be a fix for this?

I'm having the same issue with my Fleet Long Range Science Vessel Retrofit. If it upgrade the ship with the Ablative Generator on the ship, it disappears from my inventory altogether. If I take it off the ship before upgrading, I'm told "Class requirements not met" when I try to equip it on the Fleet Long Range Science Vessel Retrofit [T5-U].

here on tribble it only counts days u have been a lifetime sub or sub u have to be a 1000 day vet to get the vet ship on tribble, it doesn't matter if u a lifetimer or not tribble goes by the days u have been a sub from the day u started the sub.

I would have to look at my akira class based vessel, (I have both of them but use the carrier one) I have both the torp console and the and turret console on it. I don't remember if the either of the consoles disappeared or not. but thanks for the heads up. I will be sure to check.

lifetime subscriptions get instant access to all veteran rewards.

show me where it says this is not the case for the tribble.

the text for the chimera states "you must be subscribed to Star Trek Online for 1000 days OR have a lifetime subscription to claim this ship.

Also there is currently a restriction on the ships that are able to be purchased from starship requisitions. we are not currently allowed to reclaim or buy zen ships, fleet ships, or the chimera class. only dilithium ships appear to be able to be purchased a this time.

if what you are saying was accurate I would not be getting the 700 day vetraqn buff with less than 700 days subscribed.

read your the text in you own link..... "Square brackets are most commonly used around the word 'sic' (from the Latin 'sicut', meaning 'just as'), to explain the status of an apparent mistake."

in any case it is there because I was not sure of the exact name of the missing console

I just found an additional bug involoving the fleet chimera. with my freshly copied holodeck toon, I unequipped the chimera console and then upgraded th ship. the console did not disappear, but I am not able to requip it. the fleet chimera t5-u is not listed on the consoles compatible list. it list these vessels "chimera heavy destroyer, fleet chimera heavy destroyer, chimera heavy destroyer [T5-U]" missing from the list is "Fleet Chimera Heavy Destroyer T5-U"

this is probably one of the reasons the console is disappearing.

if what you are saying was accurate I would not be getting the 700 day vetraqn buff with less than 700 days subscribed.

2 days ago I couldn't get any of the vet ships or reclaim any cause it said you must be subscribed to Star Trek Online for 1000 days, and I paid for lifetime sub, so I called cust support to find out why I couldn't claim the vet ship like on holo. They lady told me to log in and check days that I was sub for which was 998 days, then she looked it up and said that only the holodeck sever gives instant vet rewards, not the tribble server, I ask why the 700 day buff was on my fed, kling and rom, she said because it is a copy from holodeck and if you would make a new chara and do a few missions till the vet rewards started popping up it will go to the reward you are on and stop at it.

So I ended the called logged into tribble erased all 3 and made a new fed did a few missions till the vet rewards started popping up and stop at 900 day reward. Today I copied 1 over to tribble then I logged in when I logged in on the new copy it said congrats you have reached 1000 days went to ship vendor and the must be subscribed to Star Trek Online 1000 days was gone. Cause I reach the 1000 day mark.

I erased all again and copied 1 fed,, 1 rom, and 1 kling and all 3 can claim and reclaim all 3 vet ships.

So in short Tibble server is set like it was before the instant rewards came out, So it is true you got to be a True 1000 day vet to get or claim the Vet ships. Which explains why you have the must be subscribed to Star Trek Online for 1000 days on you cause you have not hit the 1000 day mark yet.

if what you are saying was accurate I would not be getting the 700 day vetraqn buff with less than 700 days subscribed.

Under the new vet reward system yes you get all rewards instant, but under the old vet system you had to be at the number of days or over to get the 100 to 1000 days rewards, and to prove this I am going use your and my accounts to do it, plus what inheritance14.

When you log into tribble and go to the starship requisitions vendor to get the Chimera it says you must be subscribed to Star Trek Online for 1000 days, WHICH you have said it says for you under the instant vet reward system like on holodeck that would not be there, and the old vet system would have it and since it is saying you must be subscribed for 1000 days, which means you haven't lifetime sub for 1000 and the old vet system is in play.

When I log into tribble and go to the ship requisitions vendor and pull up the Chimera, or the other VET SHIPS the you must be subscribed to Star Trek Online for 1000 days IS NOT ON THE CHIMERA OR OTHER VET SHIPS. which under the instant vet system or the old vet system I would be able to claim any vet ship since I am at 1000 plus days.

So in fact since it says you must be subscribed to Star Trek Online for 1000 days, proves the old vet reward system is on tribble, cause on you it says it, on mine it does not.

And this we are not allowed to reclaim the chimera class ship will if you not at 1000 days you cant claim or reclaim the ship on you cause you not at 1000 days. Cause I have no problem claim or reclaim the ship, I can claim it discharge and reclaim the Chimera all day long.

And like inheritance14 said a few days ago could not claim or reclaim any vet ships cause it said you must be subscribed to star trek online for 1000 days but at that time he/she was at 998 days and 2 days later hit 1000 days and could get all the vet ships and reclaim them too. which tells you THE OLD VET REWARD SYSTEM IS ON TRIBBLE, and not the instant system which is on Holodeck.

Which means that the old vet system is on tribble not instant vet system. Also tells you that The Instant access vet system is not turned on on the tribble server.

When you copy a fed, rom or kling from holodeck to tribble the one on tribble is a copy of the holodeck one and if on holodeck you have the 700 day buff it is copied to tribble. A copy from holodeck is just a copy of that chara and everything that was on it. But if u make one on tribble from create a chara and start from level 1 this chara would be a tribble chara and not a copied one.
