How Important is PS Generator

I recently respec'd my char for better performance, but I messed up and put no points in PS Generator. I am an engi. Is PS Generator important? Or should I go ahead and respec again to switch skills around just for that?

If you're not going to do much ground content, I wouldn't worry about it.
