Scammers running wild in game this morning...

Seriously, I must have seen 50 freakin' scam posts in a couple of hours this morning alone! TRIBBLE like this:

Three VV , (deleted by me) , C~0~Μ] 20 keys==$10;Promotion 20M EC==$5 ,Jem'Hader Attack ship=$95,Legacy of Romulus Legacy Pack only $89.99 >> {VV VV VV , (deleted by me), C~0~Μ

It's coming like every 5 minutes this morning! I've reported it so many times that I'm tired of reporting them.

Is there not anything the management of this game can do to curtail this TRIBBLE?

Seriously, it's getting out of hand. :mad:

And to any players who actually considers doing this kind of business, you will be the king of stupid! You will get taken to the cleaners, your computer will get infected, your credit card will be in hands of god-knows-who doing god-knows-what with it! You may even help finance terrorist for all I know!

I mean jeez, give me a break! Can't these people be stopped?

Maybe STO shouldn't be totally FTP anymore, maybe charge $1 to get an account. One dollar is low enough that one single person could afford to pay but scammers (who apparently register hundreds of accounts) wouldn't the spend the money when they get so little in return. It would price them out of business. Hell, you could probably charge as little as 25 cents and it would stop them because they would have to give up traceable information to get the account.

Just a thought...

    Report doesn't seem to accomplish much, so it can be shortened to:

    Ignore=>move on.

    Not much you can do to weed these pest out. I just send in a report as spam. They need to put in better filters in for this type of spam.

    The sooner you realize the links of the "scammers/spammers" management, to people in certain industries, then the clearer it seems as to why they are so prolific.

    On the other hand, the presence of 'Gold Farmers' can be taken as a positive indicator for the health of the STO community. A game in decline wouldn't be 'profitable' for this kind of attention...

    They already have a gold selling industry going on. It's called the dil/zen trade. And the masterkeys. People buy zen, and trade it for dil (IE money for dil), or buy key and sell them for ec (IE money for ec).
