Modify mechanic of Skittering Saboteur

I'm getting beyond irked with the Skittering Saboteurs.

They're easy to kill, but when they jump onto your character, there's nothing you can do but wait for the boom.
They don't even have that firm a grip, their limbs are flailing around while they detonate.

In the real world, I'd throw them at the nearest Elachi and let them have the fun of the explosion! :D

Can we get a action that allows us to throw or remove the Skittering Saboteurs?

Well, considering how there legs are composed, I would say in "real" they would grip you, they would simply stick at you with plunging there legs deep into your flesh till they scatter your biomatter all over the floor.

But yeah, the mechanic itself is a bit silly, considering that even abilities which let you break free from anything else dont work.

Actually, in the real world, they wouldn't be able to stab you at all.
I've seen the animation enough times to question the silliness of it.

You are holding the Saboteur at arms length while it flails around doing nothing in particular.
If you were to let go, it'd fall to the ground and then you could just kick it in the direction of the nearest Elachi. ;)

If I'd been designing the animation, I'd have it clamp it's limbs around your torso, pinning the arms and making it impossible to dislodge while the bomb inside waits to detonate.

The only holdbreaker I know of is Motion Accelerator and I've never tried this on the Saboteurs.

Nothing works to break you out of the hold.

Motion Accel, Hypos (HP variants are hold breakers), AMACO/KHG clicky. Nothing.

It's part of the Elachi's gimmick. Most of their holds you can't break out of.

Just wait until you're trapped in a stasis turret, then when you're almost out, a Skitterer grabs you...then after it explodes, one of the Elachi Scanners tags you with it's hold.

Yes, they can do that, back to back to back, with no resistance from you.

And don't forget the Noxious Gas Drone disabling your ability to attack or use any of your skills or use your hypos.

It's like the Elachi are a bad joke on players.

Rebrither/Ev-Suit ;) Its not like like you need big resistence against those enemies, they are just in one line with Undine, Voth and to a certain degree Tholians: Annoying as hell. The only one of them I see as a fitting enemy are tholians, since they are the only ones who can take you on with dps rather than one-hits.

Things that knock them away will make them much less of a threat.

Yeah, repulsor rifles are good against Elachi. Hmm... I should start actually using them...

    No, you can't shoot saboteurs.
    At least, not always.

If I see them coming, then yes, I blow them away.

But if I'm shooting an Elachi device, they seem to like jumping on me at that time.

Also, when they approach from the side while you are "otherwise occupied" fighting other enemies, there's not much you can do.

In the very beginning of the game, when 1 person gets attacked by SS's, it tells you to shoot them off the other person. I don't think i've ever been able to target them to shoot them off of them.

    What repulsor rifles?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Fluidic I believe, it's a proc of undine weapons that repels a target.

However I have been able to get rid of skitterers that clamped onto me, it's either mental discipline clicky or stubborn trait clicky, I think it's mental discipline though. But you can get rid of them with that as a last resort if they grab you, just such a darn long cooldown on that power though. Edit: Yes, mental discipline, strangely enough. *thinks away a skitter into nothing* :P

The Vulcan clicky trait "Mental Discipline" Breaks you out of the Skittering buggers holds.

Looks cool too. You grab them off and throw them to the ground :)

Heh sounds funny, never seen that as it just disappears when I use mental discipline, I play a Caitian though (Never tried a Vulcan), they have access to the trait too but perhaps the anim doesn't work for them.

High-density beam rifles. they have cylinder secondary that knocks things away from you nicely. I think there's a pistol too.
