Yea I know that wont happen;) But I would not mind. I was a 1100 plus day sub before going free. Hell if you did kill f2p I would likely go life. Then make T6 ships free. Oh also kill DILL mining and just charge real money for the eXtras with no chance to convert dill. BREAK OUT THE PAIN STICKS!

No thanks, being the poor person I am, I like being able to enjoy a good game without shelling out cash every month.

    lol

If they did this, the game would instantly die. It would be impressive just how fast it would burn down.

Naw I just don't believe in free. When something that people usually pays for becomes free for all it ends up being taken advantage of. Example summer and winter event ships. People bi*che*. When they did the free week giveaway last week.. "people once again bit*h*d. New lvl's? People are again... Kinda like real life and things society gives away to some. They bark and take advantage of.

If you don't believe in free, then why are you not still subbing?

People are going to b**** regardless. People b****ed before f2p. People b**** ed the first time they raised the level cap. If Cryptic decided suddenly to give everyone a free ship from the Z-Store, people would b**** because they already bought it and demand a refund. People will generally use their right to b**** about everything and anything.

I agree going back to p2p would kill the game as a lot of f2p players would just say to heck with it.

Its the people who spent a fortune on ships that are complaining, not the dude who rides around in his free ship. Why would he care that Fleet T6 ships will be slightly OP compared to other ships, he doesn't own them. As long as he can do the content why would he care.

No its the big spenders who are upset.

Oh and you Liberatarian hate the poor TRIBBLE is insanely offensive and disgusting. Serious why would someone like you be interested in Startrek and its proverty free vision of the future?

If "Star Trek: Online" went back to subscriptions, I would most likely not play the game. 'Free2Play' allows me to spend money casually. I spent around $500 on content. I do not have a subscription.

We hate that the government is picking winners and losers in the market (This is more of a rep issue, come vote for us and we will give you "free" stuff). And who pays for all these "free" stuff? EVERYONE else. I get to live in a 2 bedroom apartment because I make 40 grand a year while somebody who doesn't work but votes democratic lives in a 4 bedroom 3 bath house...that I AM PAYING FOR. The banks got TRILLIONS because they messed up and their CEOs can continue to live in multi million dollar houses...THAT I AM PAYING FOR. Quite frankly, I don't think EITHER of these thing is right. Libertarians don't hate the poor...we hate the government that is grabbing power for it's own sake.
i'm a junior loan officer in a bank and you couldn't be more wrong. but that's the problem with this country. too many people with opinions but no facts. i'm sure 'you better redneckognize' is your motto.

and for the record, i make about the same amount you do, i'm living in the 3rd largest city in the country, and i'm living in my own 3 bedroom home that i'm paying for. all at the age of 25. maybe you're just really bad with your money?

This game simply does not have the amount of depth and content to justify a subscription model. also, it might interest you to consider that the current f2p model makes more money then a subscription model ever would.

And we have people who do not work living in houses that would sell for about a million bucks that I am paying for.
that's hilarious. the 8 grand you pay in fed taxes each year covers about 3 hours of flight by a fighter jet just doing practice flights around the base. but keep telling yourself it's going to house the poor into better homes then you have. hahahah you really should learn where your federal taxes go. it's not into housing the poor. but you keep telling yourself that so that you seem like less of a failure in your own eyes. hahaha

lol... I guess you have been reading my posts.

While I was growing up in the 80s and 90s, I was a rabid and diehard 'Star Trek' fan. As my tastes started to mature, I found 'Star Trek' to be based upon a fake utopian ideology. Even though the show presents a beautiful world of tolerance, the reality is that its controlled by military and government constructs.

Behavior modification specialists, such as Deanna Troi, are used to maintain order. If you think differently than others, such as Ensign Roe, you are kicked out of Starfleet. Other words, you have to think and behave like everyone else. You cannot listen to heavy metal music, die your hair purple, wear recreational tattoos, wear Gothic makeup, wear nose rings, etc... Its not 'proper'. 90% of the time you have to wear the same clothes as everyone.

...and, that is why "Serenity" got it right.

Freedom = Existentialism. As long as people yearn for independence and freedom, the fake utopian world of 'Star Trek' will never come to fruition.

...and, that is a good thing.

'Star Trek's' message of diversity is extremely important; however, the other philosophies it contains are controversial.

...and, that is why I have a love and hate relationship with the franchise.

Ro was a bajoran terrorist who betrayed starfleet twice; the second time by joining the maquis. she wasn't kicked out of starfleet because she was different. and maybe you didn't see all the different types of uniforms people wore? there were even guys wearing skirts. i don't think you were watching the same series i was.

Ro was not a terrorist. If you followed the story behind the Bajoran and Cardassian occupation, you would realize the flaw in your analysis. Watch DS9 to see the whole story.

When it comes to those skirts, they were designed to mirror the normal uniform.

Why do we not see someone wearing a heavy metal shirt?

i've see the whole story, but i don't think you have. ro betrayed the federation the first time to help the bajorans when it wasn't the federations problem, as they can't interfer with other cultures. that whole prime directive thing. she betrayed the federation a second time by joining the maquis. and i saw lots of people wearing regular clothing in ten forward when off duty. you can't confuse on-duty and off. i work in a bank and i can't wear heavy metal tshirt there either. having a dress code is not a big deal in most professions.

How is that fake utopian Federation logic working for you?

Bringing up politics and terrorism are blatant attempts to derail and close the thread.

Back on topic... IMO they shouldn't Kill F2P. They should add a Secondary Subscription Service, say $20 a month. And if you subscribe to this you get to claim any Z-Store Item at any time... Except Master Keys which you can get for a substantial discount.
