Are game time cards still a viable payment option?

lyran2lyran2 Member Posts: 0 Arc User
i've had a lot of fun since returning to the game 8 weeks ago. I'm even kicking around the idea of ditching f2p and subscribing.

However, that being said, I never subscribed when I played before. Instead i purchased a game time card and played until it ran out.

My question is, are game time cards for STO still being made and if so, would it be a viable solution to a subscritpion?

(I'm not thrilled with the idea of another auto draft).

Thanks

I don’t know if they are still being made, but you can still buy them. Found this on amazon. Not bad if you want to go gold for a bit 15 bucks for 60 days.

Last I heard was that STO stopped taking the time cards but that was a year or so ago. My info may be outdated.

One thing to keep in mind:

These cards were made by ATARI. Thus, Cryptic is seeing pretty much ZERO of your purchase.

Make of it what you will.

You should ask before buying if you plan to buy a bunch of them but I’d think they would since it would be cheaper and easier to simple stop selling the cards and keep taking the remaining stock then to remove the function from the site and then deal with pissed off customers. I’ve never used a time card so I can’t say yes for sure but they do still take Atari game box codes. A buddy of mine just used one the other day.

I just used one a few months ago and I have another one in my desk waiting for DR to come out.

Plus amazon has a good return policy. go for it.

the only thing you might not get is the subscription rewards, so a game card lasts 60 days buy 10 thats 600 days but will you get the same rewards as someone who has subbed fo 600 days?

personally if your thinking of spending money on a sub of some kind i still dont think you can beat the lifetime package, try to hold off till they do a sale though.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
