Do we know what an i telling intelligence boff seat is?
I know there is three ranks of boff abilities associated with intelligence ones...and that they can be hybrid
So is it 12(original)+3(intelligence)?
Or
9(original)+3(intelligence)
And I thought I read somewhere that the intelligence boff ability will be added as a 13th...which doesn't make much sense now.
Is there info or are we still waiting for? I suppose t6 specs would answer the question
T6 ships have ONE additional Boff ability. Not 4, and not 5-7.
In other words, an existing T5 ship has 12. These will have 13. Not 16+ like you're implying.
It's a hybrid seat, like they've said all along.
The Specialist BOFF has access to two pools of abilities. Career and Specialist. In a hybrid seat, they can choose cake or pie...it's not a case of having cake and pie. So you can take that normal Career ability or your can take a Specialist ability...not both.
They haven't said whether the Intel Commander seats are an additional Commander seat (LCdr seat becomes Cmdr) or if the Intel Commander seats replace the normal Commander seats...so we don't know yet if that's where the 13th BOFF power comes into play.
The Intelligence Bridge Officer is just a nice way of saying "Ship's Counselor".
Dah....we need to talk about your recent string of violent engagements with various species. You claim something called a "Cryptic" told you to shoot everything in your path. Starfleet believes you may be suffering from hysteria.

Using my powers of INCREDIBLE DEDUCTION I make the following predictions about what "Intelligence Officers" do and what they are.
1) All intelligence officers will be guys in hooded cloaks and voiced by Steve Blum
2) An intelligence Officer is a bit like a waiter at a fine restaurant in that he brings a lot of cheese to the table.
3) Intelligence Officers are all part of Section 31 and, as such, spend much of the day rehearsing how to be hard-line military alpha-dogs in front of their holo-mirror.
4) Intelligence Officer abilities will be named things like "Knife Fight", "Blood Laser" or "Instant Victory."
5) Intelligence Officers themselves will all have random two-part names generated from a pool consisting solely of the following: Blood, Shadow, Blade, Dark, Sword, Night, Hawk, and Eddie.
I kid, of course. I hope they bring something interesting to the table, though. I'm always happy to have more options.
Not all T6 ships will have a dedicated Intel officer boff slot.
A new class of starship - 'intelligence starships' for the lack of a better term - will make use of these boffs tot he commander level. It would be safe to assume normal command slots for escorts (tac) and cruiser(engineer) or sci ships (sci) will have a lt. comm slot max for that speciality.
Or - they blow us away with 2 commander level slots for sheer OP goodness.
Some of the ships will have hybrid boff slots. These slots allow for an either/or (intel + something else). Apparently Universal slots will no longer be universal and may be renamed.
T6 ships get a 13th BO power, not an entire new seat. In other words, one existing slot is promoted (may not always be the same one). It may perhaps mean an additional Ens, but given how crowded the Ens abilities are, not likely since it would just complicate more builds than help them.
That's one issue all on its own.
Specialist officers are able to slot abilities from either their exclusive pool (described as an "entire suite" which suggests Ens through Cmdr, not just Cmdr only) or an existing career (Tac/Eng/Sci). That is the way in which they will "replace" the seat they are taking, you can still slot original skills there or pick alternative ones for that ship/officer type.
Based on tribble, Intel boffs have a bunch of stealth and buff/rebuff powers. Teleport torps past shields, short cloak, aoe sub nuke, confuses, fake death, teleport and hold target (think elachi turret thing on ground), etc.
I think the funniest one gives your target a huge speed buff and a turn rate of 0, so they streak off into the distance away from the fight and have a long trip back while you kill their buddies without them.

You'll all receive a Neelix Boff to sit in that seat. Additionally he will entertain you with life lessons and stories during STF's and missions overtop all the relevant dialogue to complete the Delta quadrant experience.

I want a Neelix boff who just periodically pops up in the NPC chat window to tell me I'm a good captain.

That Viral Impulse Burst power will be quite entertaining I think, depending on how long it lasts of course

If the 13th BO slot is a CDR or even LTC, it makes the T6 ship OP. If it is LT, maybe a little OP but not over the top, If Ensign it is just more clutter.
