Crystalline entity event used to go two times a year but this March, Mirror Incursion event took its place. So could be it will go only once per year. Don't have enough info.
I really hope they change next time. That last one was painful.
It is the only cued event where not only would I understand people afking, but I would actively advise it!
Only way to keep your sanity if you did it on multiple toons.
It's not myfault ifyoufeel trolledbymyDisco ball...Sorry'boutit.

It was only painful because of so many people AFKing.
Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!

No, it was painful because there was no way to speed it up and for people who were not in for the marks they had to sit through a 10 min section at the start that was completely pointless and had no effect on the reward you wanted.

no. it was painful because of the stupid task assignment and whoreds of idiots.
the dest suited ships for closing rifts wasnt sci ships it was escorts due to manoeuvrability.
the sci ships where better off using aoe to cover the more agile ship.
the best suited ships for hitting generators wasnt cruisers, it was escorts due to manoeuvrability.
the cruisers where better off using aoe to provide cover to the more agile ships.what cryptic was completly bass ackwards.
The best things for these tasks were Escorts not because of manoeuvrability, but because they are the only ones that could vaporize the enemy groups quickly enough that they had the time to finish the interacts.
The time reduction for Cruisers and Science Vessels in their respective objective just didn't do the trick as well as just blowing sh*t up fast.

I humbly disagree. The Vesta shone on rift detail. Fly in fast and you could close an early rift before it spawned anything. Then go to the next as the frigates fly away and close that one before they turn and respond. Third rift throw in your bubble to close. No shots fired. Until the bubble is ready again you find a buddy and let them get agro. Close rift, pop a GW and help mop up. Pair fly to next and so on.

Nor should they be. Their ships would look weird.
If and when they do bring it back I hope they can improve it.
I'd much rather see them bring back the original Mirror Invasion if only for the Shuttle Event coming up next Thursday.
10 or 20 shuttles trying to do that could be a lot of fun!
The original event is the entire reason people think it's okay to AFK.
You'd zone in, and have people sitting by the station with their phasers up their butts while one dude in a Scimitar Theron blasted all four enemy waves before the big ship showed up and get blasted as well. Then you have that one guy in the mission who solely joined to activate the relays to sabotage the final phase, but he does it BEFORE the enemy waves are destroyed, so most of the relays get shut down and locked.
The new event was great because it required people to ACTUALLY do something. If a majority of the group doesn't close rifts or activate station defenses, the station gets destroyed very quickly and the group gets overwhelmed by dozens of Terran ships.

True, but unless you care about marks that doesn't matter at all.

I know that narrows it down so much.

I think the threat of breaking your ship from all the dying and exploding would be incentive enough.

Park 15 km above/below the battle field and you are fine.
