Support Cruiser Retro: Event vs C-store

I got the Event version of the Ambassador Retro. Should I discharge it, then reclaim from C-store?

    You might as well, they're supposed to be identical - alternatively, log into a level 40+ Federation/Federation-aligned Romulan character that doesn't have the ship yet and claim it from there.

    Claimed with my Rom Fed. Hopefully it will unlock for the rest of the account.

    Amusingly, this lets Romulans use a T5 Fed ship.

    That's what I did, on the premise that it might let me reclaim the c-store verison later. No reason to expect it to be any different later or that it will be worth doing later, but you only get 1 day.

    So, the big question I have for Cryptic is why does the interface punish low level characters?

    A friend of mine just recently started playing STO & was able to claim the uniforms & stuff from this weekend, but when it came time to claim the Ambassador class & the KDF ship, he's being punished because he's not high enough level to at least claim them to use them later.

    Could this be something that the designers could work around, allowing at least the ability to claim it to the account, even if not high enough level to use it at the moment?

    I hope they never change it as it's their way of saying TY for playing STO. If you haven't even put enough time to lvl 1 char to 40, then why do you deserve a 20USD reward? Pls leave self-entitlement responses out and give a justifiable answer.

    I have had several level 50 characters and a few low levels I hoped to get the Ambassador for them to have later but wouldn't allow me. That's not entitlement. I have already earn the ship on other toons.

    Log in to your lvl.50 federation character and you should be able to get it. Ambassador (Support Cruiser Retrofit) should still be available at the C-Store but note that it doesn't have "100% discount" label as other C-Store items that were given away. Scroll down a little, you should be able to find it.

    If you have claimed it once, it should stay in the c-store for all eternity to claim on other chars too.

    This - claim it on a high level character, it is an account unlock. Same with everything in these giveaways.
