Is the +1 console for t6 and tu going to be universal or does it depend upon your ship?
And is the extra console for the t6 compared to normal ships like a Voq'ue that you get for free, or compared to fleet ships? aka is it 10 or 11 consoles.
More than asked for with regard to the second question? Sure...but it's stuff that should have been put in the blogs or in the OPs of the threads to cut down on threads like these.
If you go to the homepage of the forums, the third item down is Dev Tracker. You can use that to keep up to date with what the devs (&team) are posting on the forums.

OP had two questions...
...but I'll go back and edit my reply to point out that it is more than asked for in response to the second question.
Actually one of my questions was answered, the t6 will have 10 consoles vs. 11 consoles for Fleet/lockbox type ships.
The only question I don't have an answer for yet is if this bonus console will he universal.
Also learned that my Fleet +10% shields, +10% hull also appear to stack on top of what ever stat buffs these ships will get.
Also learned that for the most part t6's won't have stats as good as Lockbox ships. So Lockbox ships won't be "obsolete". Heck it seems my Fleet Corsair won't be "obsolete" either.
Also Ship Mastery level 5 is not the only way to get ship traits, so I was right about that awesome!
So the big difference between t6 and t5.5 upgrade is 1 extra 1 boff slot and a new type of boff for the t6's vs. +1 console and better stats, plus some unique stuff depending on the ship for the t5.5 upgrades.
I can't help but think that what really is bothering some people is that thier favourite ship is technically not the highest tier anymore, even if its equal or close, they don't have the title as such.
If the leaked info about the 13th boff ability remain true, it won't be all that impressive but an extra perk...why can't they just release info pertaining to t5U vs t6?
Without info, we can only speculate. My guess is that existing ships will get +1 console of the type they already probably have the most of, i.e., +1 sci for sci ship, +1 eng for cruisers, +1 tac for escorts. If they do it that way, they won't have to put much thought into it except for ships like carriers that sort of blur the lines.
On the other hand, some people think ships will get +1 to where they're weakest, so a cruiser that only has two sci consoles would get a third, etc.
Within a year we'll have T6 fleet ships which will have 11 consoles, and all the "bells and whistles".
As well as Tier 6 Lockbox, Lobi Store, and Grind ships will have 11 consoles. Although, we will have Tier 6 Lockbox and Lobi Store ships when DR launches and Tier 6 Grind ships when the Winter Event occurs. So there will be Tier 6 ships that have 11 consoles this year and not next year.
Then explain this, the 2500 Zen ships can only be used at lv 50 and when does the T6 ships unlock? Lv 50 too ...
Now do explain how exactly is this fair ... go on ...
Well I assume you can upgrade your T5 ship at 50...which will be +1 console and all the other stuff...T6 will have it's stuff...as you level you will be in the same boat at 50 as to 60.

You actually think the Lockbox and Lobi Store ships that are introduced in Delta Rising will be T5-U and not Tier 6? It is extremely doubtful that there will be any new Tier 5 or Tier 5.5 ships when Tier 6 ships will be available. We might see some more Tier 1 to Tier 4 C-Store ships, but not Tier 5 ships. The only new T5-U ships after the initial release that we might see are the ones that were missed for whatever reason.

Let me make a example, you buy a Assault Cruiser Refit ... now you cannot use the ship until you reach lv 50, now you buy a T6 ship that also can only be used when you reach lv 50.
You have a T5 ship and a T6 ship that can only be used from lv50 forward except one superior in all aspects.
You say "gear invalidation" but the thing is you arent able to use your T5 ship at all until you reach the exact same level as when you can use a T6 ship, simply put you have a ship you payed for that is now completely useless because T6 ships are available at the exact same level and are superior.
This is not the same as a the T5 ships that unlock at Level 40, at least you have 10 levels to use then, I can understand the T-5U on those ... but Lv 50 T5 ships not only are 500 Zen more expensive that Lv 40 T5 C-Store ships but cannot be used at all until you reach Tier 6 ship level.
This is the same as you putting T5 ships unlocking at Lv 30 and then say people "cannot handle gear invalidation" ... if Cryptic didnt sold T5 ships at T6 level we would not be having this conversation, they did and you are acting as if $25 is peanuts.
Note that nobody is saying a thing about actual END GAME GEAR, nobody is complaining about their Omega Sets or Fleet Gears because yes, we can handle "gear invalidation" ... what we dont like is how Cryptic happy sold us T5 ships at T6 level and now is trying to pretend they didnt.
I will not pay the exact same cost of a T6 ship for a T5U that is a downgrade because its paying for a inferior product, are you going to say this is "gear invalidation"? no, this is trying to sell the same thing twice and I am not paying the "next tier" tax when I dont even get a equivalent to the next Tier that I am paying for, or do you think 2 ships with the exact same cost but one is missing critical parts is fair pricing?
I don't have all of the facts...no one but Cryptic does...but do you imagine them charging 2500 zen for T6? I can't imagine they will be any cheaper than 3000-3500...I can't say for sure but I imagine T5 will be cheaper.
$25 dollars isn't peanuts for a lot of people...I know it isn't for me...but even if they charged $35 dollars for T6 I know it's still cheaper than those rip-offs of Mechs in MWO.
We don't know how far or how powerful the extra abilities of T6 will be...right now all I can say if it is what people mentioned and T5-U will get a extra console slot and T6 wont...maybe it's a decent trade off...maybe not...like I said I don't have all the answers.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
I misread a little but how do you know that there will be T6 lock box ships? Plus how do you know these new lock box ships will be 11 consoles?
It doesn't make sense for the next Lockbox ships to be Tier 5. New Tier 5 ships are a thing of the past. It is probably in relation to these ships that the devs mentioned that not every Tier 6 ship will get the Specialist Bridge Officer slot since Lockbox ships are non-faction ships.
Most Tier 5 ships have 9 consoles while Tier 5 lockbox ships have 10 consoles. Therefore, since Lockbox ships have an additional console over other Tier 5 ships, then a Tier 6 Lockbox ship must have an additional console over the other Tier 6 ships. So Tier 6 Lockbox ships have 11 consoles and other Tier 6 ships have 10 consoles.
Then explain this, the 2500 Zen ships can only be used at lv 50 and when does the T6 ships unlock? Lv 50 too ...
Now do explain how exactly is this fair ... go on ...
Easy enough. Not everyone has day after day to spend grinding through the next 10 levels to unlock the new T6 ships, so allowing them to be made available at 50 allows more players access to them. Sounds fair to me, especially for people who have to work for a living and only have a small amount of time to play each day. And if that isn't good enough, there's always the fact that the leveling system for the new ships requires them to be available earlier than 60 so you can level them up.
Hrmm, regarding the OP's first question though...it is kind of odd/strange that info wasn't included with the T5-U blog, eh? Wonder if they split that out so they could have an additional blog for one of the days leading up to the release? Hrmm, then again - lol - it still feels like Cryptic is just trolling us hardcore with the way they're doing the piecemeal information stuff...meh.
Everyone the past few days loves to state that T6 ships have 10 consoles but I have yet to see a single post from a dev stating this fact of the +10% shields/hull to be a fact. The only dev posts I have seen commenting on those stats call that the difference between upgrading a 9 console T5 and a 10 console T5. Anyone have a link to prove this fact?

The console bit is easy, from my second link earlier in the thread.
The +10% hull/shields is a bit more cumbersome, to be honest...pieced together rather than explicitly stated like the 10 console slots - though those 10 console slots play a role in piecing it together.
Tier 6 ships gain stat improvements that you would expect from a new tier of starship. These ships gain an additional console slot, an additional bridge officer ability slot, and a sizeable amount of additional hit points. A new feature of Tier 6 ships is that their hit points increase as the captain levels up.
Each time your captain gains a level beyond 50 (up to level 60) the starships hit points will increase. These ships are intended to grow with the captain. This feature allows Tier 6 starships to be available at level 50 without making them have more hit points than Tier 5 ships do at that level.
So the use of the term "standard" in telling us about the 10 console slots, the blog telling us the T6 ship has +1 console over the T5 ship, and the bit about level 50 T6 ships having the same hit points as a T5 ship...tells us they're comparing the T6 "standard" ship to the T5 "standard" ship.
From which point one looks at the following two items (again from the links earlier in the thread)...
Good question. Here's the breakdown on Fleet ships. Right now, Fleet Ships offer +1 console slot, +10% Hull HP and +10% Shield HP over a standard T5 ship. If you were to upgrade a Fleet Ship to T5-U, it would gain all the benefits mentioned:
-Bonus scaling HP
-Starship Mastery passive abilities
-+1 Console Slot
The short answer to your question is no. They will have 10% better shield and hull than the non-fleet T5-U variant and have +1 console slot.
Upgraded Lockbox ships aren't inferior to T6s ships. Existing lockbox ships lack the 13th bridge officer power once they're upgraded and they don't have a Starship Trait, but they generally have superior hull and shield mods. Additionally a T5-U upgraded lockbox/lobi ship will have 11 console slots vs. a standard T6 ship's 10 console slots.
With the Fleet T5 having the +10% hull/shield over the T5...and the Fleet T5-U maintaining that over the standard T5-U - as well as the a Lock Box ship being "Fleet" level rather than "standard" level - and the T6 being based as an upgrade on the "standard" T5...
...we get them telling us that the a "Fleet" level T5-U ship will have that +10% hull/shields over the "standard" T6 in a similar fashion to which they told us that the "Fleet" level T5-U will have 11 consoles compared to the 10 consoles of the "standard" T6 ship.
But no, as easy as all that is piece together...it's not quite the same as how they directly told us about the 10 consoles.
It would have definitely been simpler/easier for us (imho), if the chart at the bottom of the T5-U blog...
I misread a little but how do you know that there will be T6 lock box ships?...
Because they want to sell the new ones, the old Lockbox ships may be stuck at TF(ive)-U-TRIBBLE-level, the new ones surely won't.
Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...
Because they want to sell the new ones, the old Lockbox ships may be stuck at TF(ive)-U-TRIBBLE-level, the new ones surely won't.
But...they still want to sell the old ones as well. Not everybody's going to be interested in the new ones, but they may be interested in the old ones still if they do not have it - they will not be as interested in them if they are subpar.

I hope they come to this conclusion too, what i have seen *so far* is a bit underwhelming, and i think i am not alone.

How many folks have bought Fleet versions of ships...for +1 console, +10% hull, and +10% shields?
So Cryptic is offering...+1 console, a scaling HP boost (based on the T6 blog example: +14.3% @60 - we do not know if that will be actual amount, it's just from the example given in blog and if that same scaling applies to T5-U ships), and Starship Mastery levels 1-4 which provide 4 passive abilities that further improve the ship.
Which is a better upgrade that folks got going from Standard to Fleet...

My assumption, based on t5 to fleet is a predetermined addition
