I'm referring here to the Mirror Mogai which was only very recently released, and which I have now used on several Alts to great effect.
It was a remarkably versatile ship, with a great set of console slots and BoFF seating, and one of the best "Mirror" variants yet released by Cryptic, as the price on the Exchange testifies to, it being 1million+ EC vs 1hunded K+ for all other Mirror ships.
Alas, with the newest announcement ... I'm screwed! As is anyone else flying this ship.
I'm one of those that is NOT particularly happy with this exclusion. All other <insert fanfare> Featured Lock Box ships are getting a free upgrade, but the "consolation prize" mirror ships, also found in those same Lockboxes I remind you, are NOT getting the free upgrade ...
Why?

2. No "Straight up T5" level ship - including the "basic" T5 ships that can be bought with the level token / 120,000 Dil, are getting this upgrade either. Since most mirror ships are at this level, they don't qualify either...

Not a Mirror Mogai fan myself (can't use prime Mogai's console on it), but I'm actively using a Mirror Negh'var on a KDF alt and will likely be missing it.
This omission irritates me.

Oh, me too, I have no doubt, I'll be spending some Z on a T6 ship, or an upgrade to one of my T5 ships. Quite happy to do it (as long as it's not too expensive) I'm not one of these that thinks everything should be upgraded for free ...
(Please let at least one of the T6 ships be a Battlecruiser and one of the a proper Flight Deck Carrier ... please!)
I just wish the Mirror Mogai, and maybe one or two of the others were on their 'list".
The Moggy particularly is an awesome ship, in some respects event better than the retrofit, and for my playstyle, the equal of the Fleet version ...
Ah well, maybe Cryptic will change their minds before DR hits ... I can hope can't I?
My kdf sci is still flying hegh'ta Bop probably I will have to buy the new T6 raptor for this char

None of the above two doesn't have any upgrade possibility to T5U.

Top-end PvP will be another story, of course... But I wouldn't count out non-upgrade T5 ships just yet.

What does the Mirror Mogai have over the Dhelan Retro other than a little bit more hull and shields? And the Fleet Dhelan seems to beat it. And you can get that upgraded.
Same BOFF layout is possible, and the Dhelan R has a Uni Lieutenant.

The Scimitar is cool, but it was the best when the Sovereign was the best... and we know the Sovereign has been replaced already.
Either way, they're getting money from the Romulan player base if they play their cards right.
Maybe because there will be T6 versions of them?

Not quite to both of those replies ... There are similarities, and some of the stats are the same but ...
Neither of them is a Mogai/Valdore! If I wanted to see and be seen in an Arky or Dhelan, I would have gotten one! ... IMO The Mogai/Valdore is the sexiest ship in STO, the shape, the size, the predatory wings ... everything!
I love the ship, and when the Mirror variant was released, I finally had the look I love, in a layout that works ... For me! ...
Others prefer other ships, and good luck to them (like some players like the look of the Gal-X, whilst I think it's the fugliest thing I've ever seen)
I just wish Cryptic would rethink giving the option to upgrade MU ships ... They "technically" cost the same as any other LB ship, so why aren't they due an upgrade as well?

Because anyone can get them for a ridiculously low price.
I use mine on rep grinds, so any new ones in Delta Rising. There I will make use of mine. That is one thing I liked about the Mirror version. Cheaper than spending Dil on Zen or Cash for Zen. And its more Sci based.

So it's the looks, I have to agree it is one of the better looking Warbirds Romulans have, I currently fly a Mirror Ha'Feh and find it's lack of charm and firing out of blank spots on the wings to be unbecoming.
But I like the layout. And investing in a new ship now seems silly.

Well, they come out of the same LB's as the "hero' ships, so the initia;l cost is exactly the same (i.e. 1 x Master Key) so it's only player perception and the ship drop rate that make them any cheaper ... If people came on these forums, and other sites around the web, raving about how awesome the Mirror T'Varo is, then you'd see the price skyrocket in game ... Personally, I've seen very few LB ships that I would class as being that much better than others, but they are currently the "cool" or "in vogue" ships, so they cost more ...
I like both the Tal Shiar Adpated ships, and you can pick those up for less than 100Mil EC on occasion ... The Mirror Mogai was slowly climbing up past 2Million last time I checked, and if T6 hadn't been announced, I'm sure it would have gone significantly higher, because it's an awesome ship ...
As are many other Mirror Ships ... The Fed ships for instance, are great fun to fly, and they'd probably be more expensive if Cryptic hadn't done some silly swaps on some of the skins ...
The regular Sovereign you got from Lv 40. Has always been my main ship. Why say good bye to a good ship? When the blog told us you don't need T5 upgrade or T6 to do the missions.

It also said that the higher end queued missions would greatly benefit from having a T5-U or better ship, makes it sound like doing one in a T5 will be like doing current Elites in a T4?. Which is going to matter more? Missions that most people are going to have done in short order and will likely only play once unless it gives good loot, or PvE that will be the played over and over to get all the new shiny Mk XIV reputation gear (which usually requires the drops from Elite-equivalent PvE)?
I don't believe merging this as-is will be in the best interests, so I'm going to close it.
