My weapons fire.
The enemies' weapons fire that is targeting me.
What I don't need to see:
Miscellaneous, anonymous teammate #18's weapon fire.
Miscellaneous, anonymous enemy's fire from across the map.
C'mon, devs! This really is affecting game play. If we can't have it all, prioritize the important stuff and leave out the trivia. Not the other way around.
That's not the game or the devs. It's your own computer/graphics/settings problem. You probably have the settings too high for your computer to handle.

Wrong.
The Cryptic Engine has an absolute maximum of how many effects like weapons, shield arcs, powers, etc etc it can draw at once no matter your settings. And this affects all three of their games.
And in places like the Crystaline Entity, you can EASILY exceed that cap.
Long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, time bug. Don't expect it to get fixed ever.
I can agree with the fact it's in the game, not in our PC, but it pops on maps it didn't pop before. At least never to me. And come on, everyone else's fire (way more than mine) visible, just not mine? This *has* to be an actual bug. Hopefully they fix it with the next major release.
I use the same settings, it happens on the same maps it didn't happen before, even with the same old ships. If it was an engine limitation, older maps+ships combo wouldn't be affected by it.
If it was an engine limitation, it would affect others too on the screen sooner or later.
This bug never happened to me until season 9 hit. And only after. So don't say its always been there. I never had it until season 9 dropped. And yes its pretty frigging annoying to not be able to see my weapons fire. So this needs to be addressed asap!

Ummm, no... I have this same problem... Worked fine before Season 9 on my Radeon HD6870...
Come Season 9, I upgraded to a Radeon R9 280X around the same time (about 3x better performance) and now, when I get into Crystalline Entity or the Undine BZ, I can see attacks from everyone else, but I cannot see my own, nor can I see my shield facing HUD...
I have a decent enough system, a 3570k at 4.5ghz 8 gb ddr3 and a msi 670 2gb.
The problem is the game not the hardware, taco said once its our hardware that our cards can only draw so much. I find that a bit of a stretch. Their are loads of games which draw more effects at once and dont cull important effects at all. Also i noticed that the game doesnt utilize more than about 1.2gb of vram no matter how max ingame settings you have the game doesnt use more than about 800-1.2gb or vram which is a TRIBBLE limitation of the engine. You can see using one of the command lines that even just standing in ds9 near exchange the textures reduce a tad because your not able to use more than about 800mb of vram there. As it tells you in the corner its lowering the texture res for absolutly NO REASON other than a limit which there is no need for high end computers.
I have a feeling the devs dont cater to high spec pcs just the old ones. They should read steams stats, most ppl are on multi core cpus, win 7, have a decent gfx card.
They need to start optimizing the engine for high end pcs more.
I mean i ask. Can a dev please go in crystaline event with a high dps team and tell me with max settings on a high end pc do your weapons ever go invisible unless you angle the camera away from the action. I will be surprised if they said no.

The problem is within the engine...
