Liberated Borg in the DR trailer

Their heads and hands don't match... Has anyone else noticed that? I like a lot of what I'm seeing in the new trailer (like the zipline), but i can't help notice this issue. More so since in the last expansion, they were showing off the liberated Romulans and Remans in open uniforms which highlighted the fact the Borg complexion was head only. Given that we know we will be facing the Borg, in both the Collective and the Cooperative, shouldn't this be fixed by now?

Even the Talaxians are getting full body skins. The Talaxians!

Yet some how the Borg characters are a head only when it comes to the skin option. Would we PLEASE be able to get a character artist or two to do these for Delta Rising?

Reasons to have Full Borg skins/complexions:

1) People have to buy an LTS to play as the Liberated Captains (that alone should warrant full body visuals)

2) The infected complexion is free to use in the alien generator, so even the F2P crowd benefit from making it full body

3) Risa becomes less appealing knowing that you can't wear any of the costumes without looking ridiculous.

4) Open uniform do the same. Even not wearing gloves shows the issue here (as seen in DR trailer) because the skin clearly doesn't match.

5) Potential for more versions like assimilated Klingon (more boney), or having a base, medium, and heavy where each version would have more implants visible as well as scarring from removed bits.

6) It's something a professional character artist could do in a day or two. I'm not professional artist, but given the skins in game, it would take what, an hour for an artist to make a mock-up version? Just take an existing base skin, over lay some vein work, and it's nice way to help sell the idea for approval. Give them a full day or two for making the more detailed final versions for male and female versions, and it would go a long way to make a lot of people happy.

7) I would personally be grateful! I know that's not much, but i would be, and I doubt that I would be alone in that. But with how many people this would possibly affect, there could be many more grateful players.

I'm definitely interested in hearing what other players think of the current lack of assimilated skins. Are there any other reasons or benefits for making these full body? What would you like to see?

TL;DR:

May we please get the infected complexion to be full body? I think after four years and two expansions, the players have earned it.

One thing to take to heart: DR is a work in progress. If there's going to be a new push for the liberated borg I would expect a visual revamp to go along with it (even if we haven't seen it yet from the first trailer). :)

It's been confirmed that Liberated Borg full-body textures are on the to-do list, though they may not be at the top of that list.
You're right. The work here is very important.

mountain from a mole hill. a trailer isnt exactly what is and as such the details you see are just for example purposes.

any news on when the Borg Infected complexion will get fixed to be full body?
It is on the list just like the Caitian and Ferasan full skin textures are. The artist tasked with this is currently scheduled for something else at the moment, but when his task is complete he will go back to doing more skin options.

Nice, i was in the middle of asking where that quote was from when i had to grab the next quote. Was this from a thread here, or a podcast?

Normally, i agree that this wouldn't be such an issue. For me though, It's an oldest in game races, one of the most iconic species in all of star trek and the only one with such a high price tag, so it just seems odd that they wouldn't be getting more love and attention just to make that LTS more appealing for potential buyers. Also, considering that they often appear in the promotional stuff like trailers, blog posts and such, they should fix it just so they're not advertising with incomplete art assets.

I think the quote is far more apt here than anyplace else.

"You're right, the work here is very important."

    Slacking Romulans. ;)

That's from the "Havelock's Tailor and Costume Issues" thread in our very own Art of Star Trek Online forums.

It's (obviously) one of my favourite quotes from the game, particularly the unenthusiastic way it's delivered by those slackers. :P
