seems ok to me. i've had no problem so far and ive was playing at the start more or less every 20 hours to get it to play from the evening down to the morning. if its wrong its not off by much.
What a ridiculous mess...entered with a team of 10...killed 29 friggin' times - IN A FLEET BATTLECRUISER - with 2 (count them) TWO pathetic bursts.....whole team got fed up and left me
alone...with the mission incomplete....
Don't blame them....
WHY did you have to TOTALLY TRIBBLE up this PVE ??!?!!???
I, for one, will STRENOUSLY avoid this pathetic mess until your BS 'Event Week' is thankfully
OVER !!! The sooner, the better. Really appreciate you're hosing one of my favorite Fleet Mark
PVE's....
You know - RARELY do I criticize the Production Staff....but, in THIS case, what the blue ****
were you thinking...? Impossible, COMPUTER CHEATING odds is really NOT that 'enjoyable' for
your game-playing constitutency...in fact - NOT being totally TRIBBLE - we find it a bunch of BS
aimed at some moron Coder who - quite inaccurately - thought this would be a 'fun' and 'exciting'
twist to one of our favorite PVE's.....just tell me when it's over.....JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZ
The Game itself is nothing. The playing of it...? Everything !!

To die 29 times in a single run, you would need to be doing it on purpose. No shields, no consoles, ramming the entity, etc...

Never died 29 times but if the recrystalize count gets to over a 100 then it gets bad as its a 2% dmg boost to the enity for each stack. We had it up to 186 stacks in 1 run because no one was using tykens rift on the enity. Luckily I had a Tykens-1 trained on a spare science boff that i swapped out after respawning for a 3rd time in my B'rel easy peasy after that.
Easy way to make sure your at the 20hr mark is to que a 20hr R/d project before queing for the event

Subnucleonic beam and tachyon beam have similar effects IIRC.

LMAO, i know how you feel. I was in my mirror nova and just had the longest session i have ever seen. 35 minutes for elite. I swear i was the only one doing any damage. Its not that it is hard, its that PUGS are horrible right now. A lot of people are entering elite hoping to be carried through. Trouble is if you get 9 others doing that... you can be there for ages.

I gave up on the elite, I just want shards.
I have 5 characters, I am not going to want to spend a ridiculous amount of time to get a shard. After playing Normal it can get done in less than 5 minutes.
Same here. Elite isn't that hard with a halfway decent team, but lately the pug queues have been awful on elite. I've just given up and gone down to normal, just like you.

the only real benefit of elite is the possibility of maybe getting Radiogenic particles, but those are kinda cheap right now.

Dude, seriously?? 29 times?? Sounds like a complete exaggeration, unless you are an extremely, extremely bad player and / or have extremely bad gear.
I have actually been blown up a lot of times in Hive Onslaught Elite. Every time you die the respawn cool down gets longer. I think when I died for the 8th time (me and everyone else were stubborn... we all attempted to finish the mission) the respawn time was 90 seconds. That basically means you must have been playing for a very long time...
I like the Crystalline Elite Event much more than the Crystalline Catastrophe Elite. I would actually like it to become the new standard Crystalline Elite PvE and make the next "Crystalline Event" even more challenging. I play this a few times per day on each of my toons mainly for the 960 dilithium reward, the R&D box is a nice way to earn a bit of ECs when sold on the Exchange. The daily Shard is just icing on the cake.
I got a Fed science toon flying a mirror Nova science retrofit ship whose base hull strength is only about 24,000 and only using free gear from the main story missions or gear purchased from the Exchange for less than 200k ECs (many times much less). At most I have blown up twice each time I have played the mission; about 15 - 18 times in total for this sci toon. The longest run was probably 15 minutes. I think the BoP flown by my KDF Tactical toon has a similar hull strength...
The strategy is pretty easy... get to within 4km (or less) fly around fire all weapons. Fly out before the Crystalline Entity emits it's "energy burst of death" and go back in fight... real easy. Healing yourself helps too...
I've been cheating a little with the event. Outside of the only toon I have flying an oddy, I take my ship and put it nose against the entity. When the 'blast wave of death' comes, I take no damage and keep right on truckin'. Also makes sure that my HY trics hit too.

Either dont play it if you dont like it, or go learn a bit about mechanics and ship building.
The "bad player-song" gets old really fast lately...

I jinxed myself. My Fed Sci toon flying the Mirror Nova science retrofit blew up 4 times in one run of Crystalline Elite Event yesterday.
I agree with one of the posters, I would love to have a timer that showed when your 20 hours are up with any daily mission. Not just an event like this, which would help but I also had adapted to it by using my crafting 20 hours as a timer. But when this is over or I finish my crafting I'll be lost. Because unless I do the same things, the same time, every day, which is boring as hell, I can't ever be certain I've done my daily bonus missions or if I have which ones, as I have 10 lvl 50 toons, with a few others on hold working their way up.
As for the guy who blew up 29 times in elite, please I have a poor Reman who fly's a TRIBBLE scimitard and he only dies 6-10 times in it (when I do play it on elite). However I'm working on the event so that this toon can get better gear and finally be worth playing on outside of dilithium scavenging for my fleet.
Yes, a timer would be wonderful. Another idea is to make it an every day event, so you can run one every day. No mater what time it is, just one each day.
Sometimes, I can only play in the evening and for the next day I can only play in the morning. In that case I loose a day, because the timer is still running.

I lost track today and had to play it a few times on the same toon to get the shard.

Best thing to do is start a 20hr Research R&D assignment as you finish. Then when it completes you know to do CCE again.

Not a bad idea. I might just start doing that.

Either that, or just some sort of wrapper mission on a 20-hour cooldown, like they have for Epohh hunting for example.
Fed-side, Delta Flyers with their built-in tachyon beam are nice, too. Even the rare ones you can buy for EC will suffice to keep those stacks down.
