Is Gumarre the only Aegis DOff?

I've been looking around for an answer to this and I haven't found anything. My search skills may not be as good as others, so I'm not saying the answer isn't out there, just that *I* haven't found it.

I know that we need specific R&D DOffs to craft the special lvl 15 school specific items like the [Arc] Beam Array and the TR-116B Sniper Rifle. I've gotten common/white ones for the specific schools so that once I hit lvl 15 I at least have a chance at crafting most of these items.

But not the Aegis set.

I only ask because I got Gumarre on a character that while I am leveling up crafting, it's as an experiment and likely won't continue leveling crafting on it past the end of next month, if even that long. Even if I decided to keep going, I'm not leveling all the schools that contain the Aegis set which by the time I'm able to START those schools, it'll be an additional 3 months until I'd hit 15 to begin crafting the Aegis set as a whole.

Am I really going to have to just keep plucking away at the Request R&D Assistance mission until I get Gumarre on my main crafting alts or is there a white/common Aegis DOff? Those are at least tradable. Since Gumarre is Bound to Character, I can't trade him to one of my main crafting alts to make the Aegis parts, when the time comes.

If Gumarre is the only Aegis DOff, he needs to be tradable.

If there are indeed white/common Aegis DOff's then I'll keep running the Request R&D Assistance mission on all my alts in the hopes I get lucky.

If there aren't white/common Aegis DOff's then I'm going to stop wasting Dil running it on all my alts and just stick to running it on my main crafting alts. Which I should probably do anyway, simply to save myself a load of Dilithium.

    I am not sure if you can still raise the old crafting system to max, but the materials still drop on Defera and you can still craft those zone specific items. If they still provide crafting xp under the old system you might be able to get the Gumarre that way.

    I have gotten a duplicate Gumarre via the Request R&D Assistance assignment.
    I have not seen any common R&D specialists with the Aegis modifier.

    There was a reddit post, of a picture of a VR Aegis Doff.. Prof John Harrison or something (I could be way way wrong on the name). The person who got it wasn't sure of where they'd obtained it from.

    I did Defera missions a lot to get the old crafting to 1500 (max is 1650) two weeks ago on all of my chars and got Gumarre on each. I assume this still works. What you need to do is to collect as many of the zone wide missions as possible (they reward the borg parts) and do the crafting missions (armor, pulsewaves, hypos etc...). They give you crafting points and reward more crafting material. Also running around and killing borg gives them. The mission plumber power also gives you 10 points when you finish it. Combine it with the hard missions and maybe medium/easy missions and you also get lots of fleet marks, omega marks and dilithium. To get as many zone wide missions as possible switch zones and/or log in for a minute in the morning and collect missions. They nicely synergize each other. It took me 3 days or so per char to get the crafting skill to 1500 this way.

    Thanks for the info, everyone. While not the answers I was hoping for, it's not as bad as I thought. I might just have to hit up Defera and 'guarantee' getting Gumarre on the alts I need him on.

    I just hope they don't 'fix' Defera before I'm able to get it done.

    Ok. So I just did this and I'm either missing something or they fixed it. Someone please tell me I'm missing how to claim this Duty officer.

    at 1500 skillpoints you should get a orange box with that ferengi aboard.

    He might directly go into your doff roster, if you had space there. Search for a blue research lab scientist. Otherwise go to the Dil store -> reclaim

    While I expected to get a box, I wanted to make sure that, if he was to just show up on my roster, I wouldn't miss out because of something like a full roster, so I checked before I hit 1500: I had 181 DOffs. After I didn't get a box, I checked the roster count again: Still 181. So, while I didn't go looking for our little Ferengi friend, unless he overwrote another DOff, he isn't there.

    Meanwhile, I'm out of game for another 8 hours or so, so I can't check, but as soon as I can, I'm gonna try the Reclaim trick and will report back with results.

    Thanks both of you for the help. After spending as much time as I do in the "General" section, I kinda figured I was gonna get trolled for asking a "Newb" question...

    your question, is Gumarre the only aegis doff? answer no he is not, there are others so far only one was from the fleet support pack, from the current lockbox however he is also bound as well on pickup making it extremely even more difficult to gain the doff is a purple 5 trait human both fed and kdf one it would seem can access and gain the same doff/similar

    however it was also mentioned that r&d doffs are gainable ingame like normal other doffs if this is still true to the dev blog or not i cannot say all we have seen is an aegis doff from fleet support pack

    Bad news: No Aegis DOff in my roster, no box in my inventory, and no option to reclaim the box in the Dil Store.

    Is this reclaiming the same box that came with the Hologrphic DOffs at the beginning of 9.5? If so, would it make a difference if I hung onto a couple of them since my roster was a little thin in a couple places?

    WOOT! I dunno if I'm just blind, or if it took some trigger to pop up, but I got him! I clicked back into the Dil Store again, and the box was at the top of the list! Gumarre is MINE!!!

    Ummm I don't believe so. The player concerned invited someone to his bridge and posted the screenshot within a couple minutes..

    Now that could be shopped, but I'd find it hard to do in a couple minutes.

    Confirmed. Gummarre shows up in the Dilithium Store "Reclaim" Box instead of popping into your inventory.

    Finally "fixed" with DR. All Defera items now give 0 research. My last 2 alts were closing in on 1,500...stuck at 1,030 for all eternity.

    Is Gumarre still available by doing these missions on Defera?

    You need to go to academy and hope you get lucky.
