Hey, everyone!

Jonbre here! It's been a while since I've worn the pips, and I'm not sure if anyone is still around from when I was "gallivanting across the galaxy!" I hope so!

The last time I logged in was when New Romulus was founded - quite a while ago!

In the meantime, I went back to school and now I'm working in Tokyo for Fujitsu!

I would love it if some kind soul would fill me in on the recent happenings around the various Quadrants!

Otherwise, I'm just happy to be back. Are the Undine still being jerks?

Excelsior!

-Jonbre

Well, Hakeev earned his come-uppance, there was a Dyson Sphere incident, Iconians screwed with us, the Voth decided that they wanted the Sphere, too, we found a gate to another sphere where the Unidne promptly attacked us, the Undine attacked Earth and Qo'noS, and now we're headed into the Delta Quadrant for some reason.

The Federation got a Scimitar-lite battlecruiser, the Klinks got a reskin with a built-in cloak, and the Scimitard is still OP. They introduced a new Fed escort that can tank like a battlecruiser and is faster even than the Avenger AND can run Aux2Batt AND comes with a console that can 1-shot Borg cubes. There was a Crafting revamp that is generally OK, a reputation and trait overhaul that was met with much rage but overall mixed reviews, a uniform overhaul that everyone liked, and a Duty Officer overhaul that was clearly spawned in the deepest pits of Gre'thor.

Some people whined about the game being too easy, others whined about it being too hard, the trolls figured out a way to torpedo IGE without party balls, two guys used the new fleet patrol escort to 2-man NWS, and there was a titanic pit of rage that opened up about the new Duty Officer thing, and lots of people complained about the loss of Exploration Clusters as mission areas, which caused much rage and several flame wars.

    Standard stuff, really.

Well, let's see. We found an Iconian gateway in the Jouret system that led to Dyson spheres in the Delta Quadrant and spent a while shooting it out with the Voth over possession. The Undine started moving openly and the alliance nearly went back into a shooting war because Captain Koren's a TRIBBLE.

Then the calendar advanced to 2410 and Tuvok held a peace conference, during which D'Tan continued overextending the Republic's resources with foreign adventurism and everybody was all too eager to whitewash five years of Klingon war crimes and blame the whole war on the Federation having its head up its TRIBBLE about the Undine. The Undine interrupted with attacks against Earth and Qo'noS, Captain Shon destroyed a planet killer by running the USS Aquarius into it, and the Feds and Klinks declared an armistice.

You mean Shon and Jarok are ****wads. I played the KDF version. And Koren has a point; the Klingons have been kind of shafted in this whole mess.

And let's be fair. The Feds DID have their heads up their butts about the Undine to the point of absurdity (since the Feds WERE infiltrated by the Undine at basically every level), and D'tan...well, D'tan's an optimist with far too little common sense.

Shon did grow into his boots, though. That suicide run was the number-one best way to get a ****ton of earned respect from the Klingons really, really fast.

Then next time they find some ancient alien construct that will potentially change our entire concept of reality, engineering, and cookies, they can have it all to themselves. The Federation had a legitimate prior claim and the Klingons were claiming squatters' rights. End of story.

Hell, the Feds also had the only legitimate claim to the Jouret gateway, given that the Jouret system is canonically their territory, which Cryptic forgot.

I have never tried to claim that the Feds were completely blameless (the Council laughed off their own experts who are paid to know these things telling them the Undine are around). I just feel that Cryptic has vastly underestimated the Klingons' contribution to the stupid, pointless clusterfrak that was the last five years. Ethnic cleansing, slave trading, torture and murder of POWs, conspiracy to use WMDs against civilian populations, and that's just what I can think of off the top of my head. None of that had jack-squat to do with the Undine; that's all on the Klingons' own heads. And J'mpok was canonically proud of it.

    There, at least, we agree.

I think the Feds gave the Jouret system to the Romulan Republic or something.

And let's face it, the Klingons have been giving a LOT to this alliance with not much to show for it. The Feds DO have the best claim, but the Klingons have been shafted for this entire story arc.

I agree that Jm'pok is a warmongering imbecile who reminds me unfavorably of Gowron on a bad day. Worf needs to just cut his damn head off and say "I'm Chancellor now, the House of Mogh is hereby restored to full status and honor and such, now let's kill some f*cking Iconians like real Klingon warriors!" Or words to that effect.

But focusing on Jm'pok's incompetence without mentioning the towering idiocy of the UFP is just as bad as blaming the Feds for everything.

Yeah. I bet that Shon got a hot date from at least one Klingon chick after that battle.

It's extremely Klingon to do a heroic last stand like that, after all. Even more Klingon than Hamlet and opera.

I'd like in delta rising a scene with a fistfight between the three captains (Shon, Jarok, Koren). Shon considers not to punch Jarok because she counts as a woman, but Shon goes apesh*t on Koren who kicks him in the nuts. Shon collapses on the floor and his antennas go limp. Jarok and Koren go into a level 5 b*tch-fight while Shon graps a Ushaan-tor while Koren whips out a dk-tang and come at Shon. Jarok hits the intercom button and calls Tuvok, Tuvok and the player come in and seeing Shon and Koren the player says "what the f-
