Open odyssey uniform mocks (fan-made)

Hey guys, one of the only things in this game I've ever truly wanted was the open jacket version of the Odyssey tunic. Now going with the newest information around the new variants, it was totally said that it'd "make sense" to do an open version of the Odyssey Dress jacket, with the possibility of that extending to the other variations of the uniform (or so I read briefly, can't say I can remember the exact source).

While I can't say I really care for an open flap hanging loose, it's still an option. However, I'm far more in love with the current open style seen on the majority of the Sierra and that... other starting costume that has a name that completely eludes me.

That style is just a little zip-down portion from the collar, which on males reveals a nice little TNG under sweater top - though if you're a female, you don't get anything visible (though using a concept image that I can't find.... the idea is there's a tank top under there, just... not visible so it looks like they're bare chested. Which... while I know it appeals to some, I'd like the option for my rather stoic doctor to look more relaxed and not trying to seduce Captain Picard while under the affects of intoxication on the bridge of the Enterprise.)

With that said, you then have the TNG/DS9 uniform open styles, which in my opinion aren't quite... what I like too much, however looking at the layout of the odyssey uniform, and it's almost modular portions and split... I can almost see this option being applied to the standard and tactical version.

With this, it too reveals the under sweater. In our current collars, basing around the collar, I'd love for there to be an updated odyssey under sweater that's perhaps a little more lined, to match the design, perhaps even with it's own stripe of sorts - just as the current TNG one is something that doesn't quite look like it'd be worn with a number of the various neck portions of most uniforms. Hell, I'd even super love some for of under-waist coat.

After spending the early hours sitting idle and being pretty bored while there was like.. two maybe three others on in my fleet, I just opened Photoshop and pulled up a fwe images of my characters, then took a few of the under sweater and the TNG open tunics... and as you can probably guess, started to muck around with them. I came up with this super rough mock of what I'd figure something like it would somewhat represent.

I also gave my female doctor some rolled up sleeves because... that would be so awesome, and it was a look that was featured in the show, mostly DS9, and totally gives that look of badass-I'm-working-here.

I attempted various times to try to replicate the somewhat-zipped look, but... just couldn't get anything I was happy with. So please, any comments on what you'd like to see from an open version? Tips for me to improve? Please, forgive the crudeness of the images, I'm no expert, just occupying my time and practicing with anything I can get my mind to Photoshop c:

Just wanna point out, "zippers" aren't a thing anymore by 'now'. Gene Roddenberry specifically had the TOS uniforms designed with no visible zippers, because zippers are "old" technology and by the time TOS has come around, they've been replaced by something else.

I would *love* to see a few open jacket options for the Odyssey uniform, especially since I paid 550Z for the Sierra/Antilles open jackets pack and... Sierra is sort of useless now.

Could be another fleet store item, maybe?

I'd also like the option between having a sweater/top underneath for women.

Ah, yeah. I was just using zips as a general term, not specifically that the device or... method used to clasp tunics and clothing shuts is one. I've always been of a fan of Sierra, just for it's uses with the Open option... really can be used for those wanting to distinguish being in the thick of it, to being more relaxed.

I would expect that an open version of the standard version, to be included to those who own the open jacket set. With the uniform being considered the Federation finest and it's newly found availability to all, it's just what I'd hope to expect... the others, yeah, I can see perhaps being a further fleet unlock or something like that. I wouldn't want to pay for an open set through the store, though. Not that I wouldn't buy the Zen for it, just... would prefer otherwise.

Perhaps even just having an exclusive drop down for the Odyssey uniforms... collar maybe, open/closed... under sweater/bare. That sort of thing we see elsewhere.

    Thanks for the response!

I'd love to see open Odyssey uniforms... as long as females are *not* stuck with bare chest again, and have the same undershirt like males. That's my biggest pet peeve with other open uniforms we currently have.

I'd also like a more 'chesty' version for male characters. Two versions, one with 70's hair and shaved.

I see no reason why men shouldn't be allowed to show off their manly chest like Kirk did in almost every other TOS episode.

    :P

    Might as well.

    Please devs, consider this.

While you're at it, maybe an open version of the Admiral's coat as well? Or at least an update to the new Odyssey style?

So, after finishing some actual work stuff, I sat down and after reading this was like "... oh, perhaps that'd be cool~!" So again opened Photoshop and just started messing around.
... though instead of an open version, I decided to just... make an Odyssey version >_>' I think I'd like something like this in game, the longness of the VA coat and the style of the Ody' long/dress jacket. But as I say with all stuff, this was done pretty quickly, but the base idea of what it might look like if it was ever put into the game?

Chest hair slider bar on character screen? :D

No need to excuse for your work.
Its more than good enough to see that it's a good idea!
I like your thoughts about the uniforms and your versions of open uniforms. Also your "sleeve up" version is awesome!

I like this idea here, I would add the Veteran Jupiter Belt like the one seen on Admiral Quinn and it would be perfect. As for the open variants I would just have the undershirt as an option for BOTH genders. The Odyssey Dress Jacket open would look a whole lot like the WoK Monster Maroon open.
