not everyone has a 4k monitor and GTX 780 TI SLI setup. Cryptic has a set minimum equipment list. the game HAS to run on. if the best it can run is 16 bit 640x480 so be it, however, the cinematics I have seen are far beyond that
My annoyance with many cutscenes (mosty STFs) is sometimes they drag on and are unskippable so you're forced to watch them over and over and over and over....
They are of poor quality and need to be reworked. There is barely any sound and the video looks as if it were rendered at 640x480.
Any chance of higher res (and louder) versions available as optional downloads?
they are in keeping with the games own graphics and sound thats what i like about them the best, i hate games where the cutscenes and trailers look and sound almost like real life and then when you actually play the game you feel let down when you see & hear the actual game graphics & sound.
i detest this more then anything with game trailers.
a prime example of how good STO`s cutscenes are is the recent scenes with tim russ, the cut scenes were spot on and made the transitions between cutscenes and game play appear almost seemless.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
I am actually referring to the FMV intro sequence when you first start a character and the more recent sequence where they did a recap (with Tuvok) when Issue 9 launched.
Time is a funny thing; There is always too much of it. Except when you need it the most, then there is never enough.
Cryptic had a higher resolution video ... but they had to take it out because it made the download too big. Also high res is too confusing for new players.

I know a lot of people who got lost in the pixels and quit the game. :P
The only cutscene I have regular trouble with is the one from the 2800 series where Commander Karen Andrews meets her doom on DS9 when the Dominion attacks. She always vanishes shortly after the scene begins, and becomes this disembodied voice for the rest of the video.

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!

but not just them, all the others as well.
