It is a real shame that there has been a decline of Dev and CM communication.
Remember when you would log on to the Dev Tracker daily and there would be 2-3 pages of Dev comments for you to catch up on.
I miss those days.
Also, WoW have just realeased they next expansion trailer... I wish there was one for DR (and not the Convention clips, I mean a proper game footage trailer).
Real Shame.

2. If that warlords of draenor machima is their actual trailer is their official release version....id lose a good chunk of respect towards blizzard. Used to be a raid leader, was good times...new family pushed it away so I have no illl will...but Blizzard cinema is the stuff of legend...to release that makes me wonder what other "cuts" they made.
There will be a trailer, typical new series/episode revealing
My PvE/PvP hybrid skill tree
With LoR, it was awfully hyped up with lots of energy and it died down a bit before launch. So I'm getting they are wanting to save the energy for DQ launch so they are just giving tidbits that help us understand what's coming. At the same time, they are letting the embers from the Tier 6 rage cool down a bit.
But the Devs are posting, I seen the Taco still taking up an active role, Zero and Frost helping out with bugs and the Foundry, and the ship team taking input.
If my customer base was as rabidly hostile as a good-sized segment of the active forum-posting players, I'd be looking for ways not to engage them too. I can't blame them.
Not saying we don't have reasons to be angry or disappointed, but there are far better ways to express it than many I've seen around here.
the interactions between the company and the players was one of the things that set cryptic and sto apart from other games.. it is a shame its gone..
i miss engineering reports, and state of the games.. even though there was some stuff on them that didn't come to fruition, it at least helped to keep the forum population talking about stuff in a more positive light.. now we are left with tidbits of info, and everything else is up to interpretation. that always spells disaster anytime that happens (not just in sto).
pre pwe cryptic rocked..
This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!
So you're saying you're one of the smarter evil overlords that keeps his plans of world domination to himself?
Tacofangs, shut up and be quiet!
yeah, but I don't group you in with the other devs... you play the game on a different level than the rest.. and we appreciate it.. even if we don't like what you have to say, you still do a good job of getting the facts of what your commenting on out, and it usually stops or avoids a flame war...
keep on keeping on taco...
And kept us informed all the time
Games are kind of the same way, they space things out, drop hints here and there and then you get to enjoy content. And I agree, over-hyping of ANYTHING is a bad idea, games, movies, music, etc.
Defending The Galaxy By Breaking One Starfleet Regulation After The Next.
I think he is very active now over in the FireFall forums.
On the other hand, we now have two community managers, and it seems to me like Brandon managed to post more times per day than both of the new guys combined. Man, I miss him.

That said, there are devs like Tacofangs, Crypticfrost, Borticus, Adjudicatorhawk, Jheinig, Callevista, and Crypticquack who not only post quite frequently on the STO forums, but actively communicate with the playerbase via the forums in regards to questions and feedback players have.
I may not like all of the communication from Cryptic, but I will always be appreciative of their effort to communicate with us via the forums.
And I would prefer to hear bad news from Cryptic than no news at all.
Bran wasnt hamstringed by a PWE overseer telling him how to do his job either........
Bran was a PWE employee, not Cryptic.
A good example would be the recent problems with doffing.
Slow to update and, for many KDF toons, a freezing up of doff missions preventing new ones being slotted.
This applies even to R+D slots.
The last communication about this, according to the dev tracker, was a week ago today.
However, the issue has not appeared on any subsequent patch notes as a known issue and we are now into a junior officer appreciation weekend.
Thursdays apparent attempt at a fix has failed, and there's been no either acknowledgement or response to that.
The response about the issue that was on the 'never forget' list only came after the event has began...almost as if it had been entirely forgotten and a response was slapped together hastily.
Pretending that there is no problem with PR and CM atm does nobody any favours.
Honestly, I tend to feel the community has some responsibility in the Devs not posting anymore.
"Back on topic. Destinii is correct."
(Formerly Destinii until the 'Great PWE Forum Shakeup of 2012')
Who cares, big deal they've been hush for 8 days.
LoL
Now you have released the Kraken.

I agree. If the community was more mature and open-minded to information from Cryptic, they wouldn't be so hesitant to provide that information. I'm guilty of it, too. It's something I try to improve on, but sometimes I falter.

Not you Taco. If every dev commented as much as you, these forums would feel way more useful.
