You get a mission from ESD. You travel out to deep space to investigate the anomaly. Next thing you know is your first officer is telling you the computer reads its the 29th century. Your in a completely new sector and your aboard the Enterprise J. To beat it all you've been thrown into the middle of the Temporal war. Exp 3 begins.
P.S. I know cryptic said it was impossible to do a enterprise j because of its size. In the 29th cen. all ships are as big as the Enterprise J. So the scale could now work. Also by then I would expect cryptic to have upgraded its developers tools.
Expansion 3 is probably going to be adding Cardassians into the game as a Faction - and maybe some of the Gamma Quadrant.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
Well, Starfleet average one Enterprise every 43 years from Archer's NX-01 to Shon's Ent-F:
22nd - NX, 23rd - TOS, A, B, 24th - C, D, E, 25th - F, G, 26th - H, I, J, - 27th - K, L, 28th, M, N, O, 29th - P, Q.
So it will be the Ent-P or Ent-Q.
And most likely the size of a small moon, and capable of travelling between galaxies like our ships go from ESD to Mars.
nx-01 only lasted a decade at most before technology became advanced enough the enterprise was retired from service, it took almost 80 years later for the next enterprise to appear.
the original USS Enterprise was upgraded after 40 years of service but had minor refits in between however an internal and external retrofit was completed by 2270's, more or less a completely new beast. but the original enterprise if you like was destroyed not long afterwards. its replacement was probably just a recently built retrofit ship that already had another designation and awaiting its first testing before the news came back about being renamed, but even this one the A version was retired not long after because technology again outpaced the enterprise name. the B version replaced the retired A version within around a few years.
the enterprise b lasted its duration and the second longest next to the original USS Enterprise to date according to what little i know of beyond the nexus incident with almost 45 years of running, but the little i do know was that the ent b was lost or destroyed and it only took a few years for starfleet to give the enterprise the C version through the new ambassador class in 2330's.
The short life cycle of the enterprise C, it lasted a little longer then the nx-01 did, but not by much due to the temporal event of another reality when the ent-c when through from prime to that reality to see klingons attack, and then flee later on through the portal to its destruction with the alt reality eliminated at that point.
again it didnt take long, a little around a decade for the galaxy class to replace the ambassador class completely, the D version came out around 2360's and lasted almost 15 years before the klingons destroyed her.
the E version, must of been one of the earlier ones built from the first batch, it took less then a year for the sovereign class to adorn the enterprise name. that lasted for around 2 decades before records have the ship lost in some dust cloud, it took one a short time to replace it with the F version.
every 43 years?
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

They should have stopped there and avoided the weirdness that is the Enterprise Z.
It's populated by Japanese looking aliens who stand about screaming for weeks on end before they actually do anything. When the ship powers up, it turns yellow and grows spikes all over the hull.

I liked the Temporal Cold War in Star Trek: Enterprise. I know a lot of people didn't like it but I actually thought it was interesting. We had already encountered time traveling Starfleet Officers in Star Trek: Voyager so it wasn't a big deal knowing that people from the future who had a beef with the Federation would attempt to go back in time and try to stop its formation. What I didn't like about the Temporal Cold War was the fact that the writers had come up with interesting ideas to flesh it out and they never got around to realizing any of them.
The Tholians were introduced in the episode "Future Tense" and were said to be major players in the Temporal Cold War but that was their only appearance because the idea would just be dropped. They wouldn't be seen again until the "In a Mirror Darkly" and that was their mirror counterparts. This actually gets me wondering; If the Prime Tholians are stealing Mirror technology then does than mean the Mirror Tholians are stealing Prime technology? The Mirror Tholians were seen tearing apart the Constitution Class USS Defiant from the Prime Universe so it's possible. This is something the game should explore in a future story.
Back on topic however, it would be interesting if we could explore the Temporal Cold War further in the game. Technically it had been resolved by the end of "Storm Front, Part II" but it seems like it would be hard to stop such a thing when it involves time travel. The Aliens from "Storm Front" who assisted the Germans during WWII have already been mentioned in the game as the Na'kuhl. They could be introduced as villains for the Temporal story. They also add the Sphere Builders who were also mentioned by the Xindi Ambassador, since they were the ones who wanted to stop the Federation's formation and they were at war during the time the Enterprise-J existed.
I definitely say we do some kind of Temporal Expansion in this game, to flesh a lot of this stuff out.

wrong... the ent J was the biggest fed ship in the battle of porcyon V by a WIDE margin.
The Wells Class is the only 29th Century ship we've actually Seen on screen, and it was most deffinately not several miles long.
If there's going to be anything Temporal, I'd rather a Feature Episode Series. An entire Expansion would take us well out of 2410 and away from anything and everything the game currently stands for.

I apologize. I am going to hell for that.
Please reconsider ARC. Please make it optional, at the least. PLEASE.
It seems the vast majority of your most active players (forum regulars) hate the idea... and while that's a small subset of the playerbase, I think it's an important constituency.

Maybe the Enterprise L?

Now be fair. Enterprise Q will be a small blue box that is the size of ESD on the inside. :P

Well, I think the Oddy deserves being upped to T6, it is only one year old...

Hard to believe isn't it? NX-01, commissioned 2151, Enterprise-F, 2410 and beyond. 7 Enterprises in 259 years.
They should have stopped there and avoided the weirdness that is the Enterprise Z.

Whilst there is obviously a connection, I don't think Cardassians and Gamma Quadrant need to go together. There's very little connecting them anymore.
