Support mission populations and related missions

I know you guys (and ladies) are seeing a lot of complaints. And overall, I love the game. But nothing's perfect…

So here's my complaint. I'm an avid Doffer. On Sunday afternoon, I did a little Support-mission hunting. And to be fair, my incident is totally apocryphal and subjective; that being said, here's what happened.

I was straddling the 12noon (iirc) Eastern US timezone timer reset, and I flew to every Omega Leonis sector before AND after the reset. (8 different zones). As well as the Delta Volanis, Rolor, and Betreka (though those were just after the reset, iirc).

I found zero (0) support missions. That's 11 potential missions, 0 popped. Now granted, it's possible that every single one of the other support missions were populated. I might have just been unlucky. But the general dearth of support missions, especially compared to previously, with 2 chances in every sector and 4 in some, is really disappointing (putting it mildly). I have found a similar dearth in Forced Labor missions and (the colonist dump) missions.

I would like to see a higher chance of support/related missions. That's all I can say, I suppose. I hope this has some effect.
Please reconsider ARC. Please make it optional, at the least. PLEASE.
It seems the vast majority of your most active players (forum regulars) hate the idea... and while that's a small subset of the playerbase, I think it's an important constituency.
THE PLAYERS DO NOT WANT THIS.

I was tempted to make a similar complaint myself. Mine however is slightly focused on the chain assignments for colonisation. They never seen to appear under colonial assignments, I'm not sure if they've been cut but I'm left with incomplete chains.

I miss the exploration clusters, taking them out was a bad idea.

(These are the same missions I'm referring to - the last mission in the chain is always "Support [Rolor Nebula] Colonization Efforts", which upon a crit, provide a purple Doff, different in each cluster, but same each time for each individual cluster.)

So would I. I would also like Ghosts of the Jem'Hadar easier to find for my alts, as well as maybe the Lib Borg rescue one. And they need to fix the Suliban one, too. I'm really not getting my hopes up, though. The DOff system was bugged when it was released and has NEVER been fixed. No reason to think they'll ever do it.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

AFIK, Ghosts of the Jem'Hadar is bugged since the 9th mission requires nebula access. So you can start the chain, just can't complete it.

My complaints about the "Support Missions" are as follows:

#1 - Very rare and hard to find. Since season 9.5 started I have been going to T'ong Nebula every single day with 3 toons at least twice per day (at least 4 hours apart for each toon). I have only come across the Support missions once. Season 9 started on July 18th. I have played it as recently as yesterday, August 3rd. That is 16 days which means I have visited the T'ong Nebula at least 96 times across all 3 toons.

#2 - Actual Critical Success for "Support Missions" is much lower than calculated success. By now I have attempted doing at least 45 of these support missions in various nebulae and expanses across 3 toons since the start of season 9.5. I have painstakingly chosen my Doffs so that I get a 30% - 33% critical success rate. Based on the calculated rates, I should have had 13 or 14 critical success. In actuality I only had 4 critical successes which works out to an actual success rate of 8.89% which is far less than 30%.

I haven't had the chance to get to Renown on my current chain, still waiting for Establish First-In Colony to show up.

I too have not been able to get 'support colonization efforts' to show up either. I've had a toon sitting at b'tran cluster for a week, checking every few hours I'm awake. I even thought,' well maybe if I do all the assignments that are showing up, the assignment I want will pop back into rotation.' Nope, no luck. These purple technicians aren't only great for a2b builds, but crafting now as well. Where are we supposed to get these assignments?

While the Ghosts... chain is probably borked from cluster removal (c'mon, *everyone* saw *that* coming), they have fixed the Suliban missions. And the Reclaim Borg Drones mission has always been almost impossible to find - I look for it every day and I've run across it only once in 2+ years. It only pops in the Sirius, Regulus, Eta Eridani and Omega Leonis sector blocks. Lots of times I forget that part and realize I've gone a week without going to Earth or Qo'nos to look for it.

I have no idea why that Reclaim mission is so rare, but it was obviously a conscious choice of the devs to make it so.

From the sound of your post you are looking KDF side. I track the fed side and Rolor Nebula and Eridon Nebula were the only two available Sunday until 8PM then Delta Volanis and Betreka Nebula were available. Fed side, on a running 5 day average has been about 3 per day.

As for looking for B'Tran on the fed side, it has popped 4 times since 7/20 (7/20, 7/24, 7/25 and 8/5).

Also, out of the last 36 supports I have done, I have received 1 Vulcan refugee which probably accounts for their 600k price on the exchange. And 2 months ago I was dumping them for 30k each 10 at a time.

I've seen the Borg doff mission maybe four times over the past several years, it's just astoundingly rare for some reason.

Well, Heretic said in one of his Q&A sessions in game, that he intentionally made it so some doff missions wouldn't be always available, and some would be rare to find.

Support b'tran colonization efforts just popped up today for FEDs at 6pm New York time, but not for KDF.

My belief is that when they changed to the new method for the cluster missions they changed the timer to be the same as the Department Head missions at 20 hours instead of the four hours pre-patch.

I can live with that change because normally I was only logging in once a day to check for missions so I don't see a difference, but for those checking multiple times each day I understand how this is annoying.

My issue is because of the much longer wait to change the available missions any mission that is part of a chain could take days or even weeks before the right mission appears. One one of my alts is been stuck at completing the third or fourth step of the colonial missions since this change went live because the missions are "uncommon".

As much as I would like to see these missions go back to being on a four hour timer, at the very least I would hope the missions that are part of chains to be lowered to from uncommon to common so at least people don't take months to get them completed.
