NO really,
with all the ranting going on...
I LOVE the announcement. I love the plans.
I DO own Z Store and Lockbox ships.... am i angry?? NO you know why? i play for the games sake. I do ESTF runs in a T2 Connie and Retro Phasers just for the fun. and still survive somehow..
So my Tal Shiar Battlecruiser with fleet gear will probably just be able t survive lvl 60 content.... common... people.. Finally NEW STORY mission. Thats what most people waited and ranted since season 7. Now it comes and all they do is rant again.
Yeah new ships... and yeah i spent money on ships.... but same as when buying a car i dont request a new model when it comes our for free... i know what i bought when i got it. same goes for gear..
If there will be New gear. or a new level in the Rep for the new gear .. cool finally something worth doing these STFs again for.
JUST BRING BACK TERRADOME FINALLY WILL YOU!!!!
With all these updates i finally might just have Fun playing STO again. Something to aim for. And no i dont PvP so i totally dont care about how uberpar the ships with the powers will be to players that have just their pew pew super duper dps monster being vaped.
Its a Story update as far as i see it. the New Boffs will have to do something with the new T6 ships and their new powers. So lets see what they got.
I am eager to play Expansion 2. ( And hell i ranted my self about Season 9.5,... i know that)
Thats why i think its also time to say something positive.
So who is with me? ^^
And actually WANTS to play Expansion 2. and WANTS to level up in new Missions. maybe with friends again on elite.

If it's the same as Season 7 and Legacy of Romulus (aka Expansion 1), then the Season and the Expansion will not be the same.
Season 7, New Romulus: November 13, 2012.
Legacy of Romulus Expansion: May 21, 2013.

no seriously... i always loved the episode and thought of why didnt they bring up stuff like that. when they add all those other "silly" ships
I look forward to the Inteprid interiors, and if you can use them on other ships.
and to what different versions there will be. or if it will be with the Gal-X a set of already existing ships.
even if its just a SKIN, (which would also be cool for 500 zen) i would rock the warship voyager skin totally.

To be honest, I never liked Terradome. I wish they would bring back the DS9 Fleet Alert. This first time I did it I actually felt like I was invading Terok Nor and taking the station back. Yeah, it had bugs, like Jumpman in Cardassian skin. And they spawned faster than the Tholians on Nukara. But even so, I have my trophy from it. It just needed a few tweaks and it would have been perfect.

I am just as HAPPY as you are. In the podcast he said our Lockbox ships and Fleet ships WOULD NOT become obsolete. I have hope. Right now Fleet ships have a 10% buff to hull, shields and a extra console slot. Who says they can't just add a 30% buff to Lockbox ships and Fleet ships to make them competative. My GoD ppl. Were finally getting chains of story missions with new STFs.

I liked Terradome as NOW it would render the Undine Ground Weapons USEFUL.
And it was the only STF i can remember that was decently hard and had Space and Ground Combat in it. And also was longer than normal STFs ( i like when the mission is not be done in 3 minutes.....)
but i understand your point. I guess we bth mean the same thing when we ask for new stfs that force the player to use skill and common sense, and not just dps builds. and also have a setting where ground and space battles are mixed and it actually makes sense in a somewhat story arc.
I never really understood why they got rid of the really enjoying STFs and then bugged up the borg ones in the way they are.. (and yes being able to pew pew through a borg invasion and its cubes in under 3 minutes is also bugged)
stfs SHOULD last 10-20 minutes if not longer... its the dungeons of our MMO. and dungeons take some time..
i dont get why all other MMOs have them and the player base is happy to raid together and here all people want is content that can be played in about 2 minutes...
the only reason i like the undine space stfs is that they are a tad bit longer than others. they are just also not balanced and bugged as hell.

You are all excited about new story? Cryptic can do that w/o nuking all the current ship purchases. Hell, if Cryptic wasn't so busy pushing lock-boxes they could probably do a lot of stories! Before F2P/P2W and lock-boxes we had many featured episodes on a regular basis! STO is more the old $20 hooker now cause of F2P. Sorry... 2000 Zen hooker.

You DO know the Borg ones have ALWAYS been bugged? Including Terradome? True, some things added made it worse. But they never fixed it in the first place. Probably never will.
What??? You not upset that we will have new PVE content?? New more powerful ships?? New weapons?? What kind of gamer are you?!?! Your supposed to be happy staying at the same lvl for 4 years!! lol
Oooh, if only that were true.
Only thing I'm doubtful over is the level 60 'solution' to power creep. It's just like Cryptic to try and solve a problem by piling on more rather than thinking about it first.
Sure this new elite lvl 60 content will be a challenge, but give it a few months when everyone is in T6 ships with top mark gear, and the content inevitably gets nerfed because it's too hard, and we've come full circle. Then all the lvl 60 DPS monsters will steam roll everything as they have done, meanwhile the new player needs to do even more to try to catch up.
after the last days:
i STILL think i will love EXP 2 , as much as i hate the new R&D (and i already hated it on tribble as well as most others) but it didnt change..
but as cryptic is know for patching and pulling out thing that people like... better not scream doom too loud about this.. otherwise they change their mind.. get rid of the plans they have and just put in another rep without any story content..
give these people some credit.
IF they make what they plan (and they better are wrking on it for months already if it hits holo in octobre)
then this might be the best addition to STO in a long time..

Why would anyone beat you for looking forward to it? In fact, I think most look forward to the new content coming.
People are just not too keen on the forced CRYPTIC store purchases on the horizon.
pls take off your rose tinted glasses or search for what STO was rly like b4 F2P. "Regular basis" isn't what Atari did for STO.
There are really pro and con arguments, that both have legitimate documentation.
Untill such time that Cryptic and Atari release the relevant internal numbers, that discussion is really... I was going to say "stupid", but I think "Idiotic" is more appropriate.
We only know the overall numbers... nothing more.
That said, I DO remember more new missions being released back then... Today it seems to be more ships and services, but its been so long since they released anything other than a single mission at a time, that I don't really remember.
