Seriously Al? REALLY? Mk14 Gear is going to fix the power creep?
/facedesks multiple times
Look at it another way, would you take the current high end gear into an early episode and complain about it been OP power creep?
No, because it's made for the higher end content. I hope I am right, but I would guess that the Mk XIII and MK IVs are going to be aimed at NEW even higher high end content.
Put it this way, I got dragged into a none elite infected by some fleet mates once. I could have had a kip whilst I ran it it was so easy... That wasn't power creep though. lol
Those of you concerned with older ships becoming "obsolete". I would recommend holding off the pitchforks and torches and listen to the Q and A that will be happening soon.
We are going to take care of you guys.
That's what Cryptic said about the Galaxy revamp ...
No, no, no. See. You have to grind up to level 60, then you have to grind out level 14 Purple/Gold/Whatever gear. Then you have to grind the new specializations and so on. Only then does power creep begin again.
And we can level a toon to level 50 in less than a day, so do they really think it's going to take long to get to 60 and start obtaining the new gear? but given past experience with this game and company for that matter I don't think they've thought that far a head.
Iconians didn't they say in 2015? Would be nice if it was sooner though. I am sure we have to grind to level 60, but the gear for it guess won't be on Exchange system. More on the R&D method. Just have to wait and see what happens!
TRIBBLE it, AtB is nerfed? so stupid, so many ships will be ruined without it, i doubt even a move to a new tier can counter the damage this will cause, how useless this will render like a quarter of the ships at least.

Meh, that'll be my much loved Galaxy X getting parked up then.
Talking about the new Intrepid interior rooms (Astrometrics, kitchens).
I have to say, I'm legit excited for this. I thought we'd never see new ship interiors again (aside from the odd lockbox bridge). And what was shown at the dev panel (what I could see of it anyway) looked great.
Lots of complaints about the announcement, as with any game tbh people will only be happy if they just never change a thing.
I for one am pretty excited for the new changes, lots of new content and new things to keep me playing and I love messing with builds and at the moment my Scimi build has reached pretty much it's peak and I am looking forward to moving on to a new ship, new skills, new abilities, new everything. Yeah there will be issues as with everything but they will get fixed or be a lot less OMFG RAGEQUIT!!!! as people are making them seem at the moment.
Power creep was an issue sure but its taken a long time for it to get to where it is right now (hence the term "creep") but with the new cap of 60 that means harder enemies and yes the creep will start all over again as it should, it's advancment if you could not get to the point where you can steam roll through elite stf's then whats the point of upgrading?
Unknown. dontdrunkimshoot doesn't know either. When Geko said it on the stream, he said it in a joking way. Needs to be nerfed definitely, but unknown how.
Thanks for the updates, Ashkrik23. It's very much appreciated.
That said...
Q&A: science ships not competitive, especially when not in fleet. Crafting is for that. New tac heavy Sci ships coming
I guess it's quicker and easier to pander to the DPS meta game than to actually put thought and effort into deciding what role support ships have in the game.
Huh? It's set in the Prime universe. Always has been.
Indeed. You point is taken. JJ didn't help, though.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.
I've had max level characters for too long, and the NPC's have been begging for an upgrade for a long time.
2 things though
-Foundry needs access to these higher level NPCs if we want to have eneimes to be taken seriously
-Please make sure that information is disseminated properly, half of all the forum rage is generated by some ignorant poster spreading false truths
These are the Voyages on the STO forum, the final frontier. Our continuing mission: to explore Pretentious Posts, to seek out new Overreactions and Misinformation , to boldly experience Cynicism like no man has before.......
The devs do want to eventually bring back a true exploration-type feature to the game. They need to find a smarter way to bring infinite exploration that is interesting and entertaining. Not happening in Delta Rising, though.

I'll be one of the first people to say things need to change, but i think whats got a lot of peoples backs up is that everything they've spent the last 4-5 years working for will be rendered all but obsolete when this goes live.

A2B finally getting its nerf? I'll belive that when I see that.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

I call this inability to tackle a problem, therefore shove it under the rug.

I'm reminded of BranFlakes saying something to the effect of "calm down, you don't know the whole story yet."
...and shaking in my shoes at how that worked out the first time around.

Still want my Galaxy class interior. I'll keep hoping.
Time will only tell!

I seriously doubt that, unless the AI scales according to the DPS of players so a 100k DPSer can handle the same as a 5000 DPSer.
Heh, I never said it was logical.
How is it being nerfed?
Meh, that'll be my much loved Galaxy X getting parked up then.
Not again...I just got mine working to level.

I really shouldn't be surprised their genius plan to make science ships more competitive is to make them more tac-heavy.
Cryptic, your solution to making science ships more viable is shallow, uninspired, and boring.
Last i checked, you can get away with running elite STF's in T4 ships with blue/green mk X gear and still do well.
Why cant you run level 60 content in a T5 ship with Blue mk XII stuff and still do well?
Indeed. You point is taken. JJ didn't help, though.
